The North Jamaica Coast region

Legend has it that Runaway Bay was the area the run- a -way slaves came to escape from their masters. The temperature year round is fairly moderate, and this area benefits from the lush vegetation up on the hillside, and the cool tropical breezes from the Sea.

Dunn's River Fall, Prospect Plantation, Dolphin Cove, Martha Brae river rafting and horse riding are just a few of the many attractions within the region. For the serious sporty guest, all water sports, horse back riding and hiking etc are available too.

The Norman Manley International - Based on the South coast in Kingston is a : 2 hr drive

* We had a perfect vacation in this villa; and the staff made our vacation a dream. We stayed a week in April 2009 with 2 families and 5 (small) kids. The villa was big enough to accommodate us; the pool had enough toys for the kids, and we even played tennis against the staff. The view is perfect, and the villa is well located (away from tourist centers; but attractions are within driving distance) From the arrival in the villa, the entire staff was prepared to make our stay perfect! Breakfast and dinner were awesome, the cook even sang happy birthday while the candles were on her pancake (which we asked to prepare for her birthday). The maid (Dian) was always present and ready to help; but never interfered with our activities. She even took care of our little baby of seven months, in order for us to enjoy breakfast, dinner and some preparation moments before a trip/beach visit. The staff showed us the way to local shops and also to a local church to celebrate Easter. For our every need, the staff went shopping for what we asked for; returned the money and receipt on the table without problems! We loved our stay; returning was like Eastern: coming back from heaven to earth.

We stayed at the villa maroon in February for my 25th birthday and had the most amazing experience ever. The build up to the holiday was great as there were 8 of my closest friends and partner coming and we wanted somewhere that was friendly clean, luxurious and special and we found just that in the Villa Maroon.

I made communication with the villa owners before travel and they where very friendly and helpful that made me decide this was the place for us. The transaction process went well with no complications, bearing in mind their were 8 people to attend to, it was very professional and it felt safe. We were promised dinner on arrival and breakfast of our choice, and even though we had a delayed flight we got just that.

The welcome was warm and it felt like we were returning home, the staff was out of this world and we made some really true friends. Dione, became my second mother, looked after us and the house and went out of her way at times. The head chef always said, ;Yeah Sure’, was his number 1 catchphrase as there was nothing he wouldn’t do for us. And the caretaker was like our protector and older brother.

The food was wicked, everything. The chef is an astonishing cook, who found joy in seeing our exciting faces every time he served dinner. The villa was clean and very comfortable, with great views of the sea. We were in a good location, however found we got a bit of a raw deal by some local taxi drivers, but eventually found our local driver who was reasonable and became apart of our family.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all as I don’t think you would find a better, more comfortable Villa in Jamaica than The Villa Maroon. Thank you every one at Villa Maroon for making our stay and my birthday the most memorable experience of my life and you are all missed dearly.
