About the home

The 4* English Quality in Tourism awarded Hayloft is a first floor apartment offering luxury accommodation suitable for up to four people, with lovely furniture and fittings throughout including a fully equipped modern kitchen. The bedrooms consist of one double and a smaller twin/single bedded room.

All linens and towel plus guest towelling slippers are provided and the Hayloft is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a willow courtyard with table and chairs outside and ample private parking for your car.

You will receive a welcome pack on arrival including free range eggs from our chickens. The Hayloft is suitable for children but pets are not allowed and the property is non-smoking throughout.

The South East England / Hertfordshire region

Barley is located in North of Hertfordshire and sits on the borders of 3 counties, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex. Despite its rural location Barley enjoys excellent road and rail communication to London and Cambridgeshire.

The Royston / Barley area

Barley is a rural location ideal fro country walks, horse riding etc. The local attractions of Imperial War Museum Duxford and Audley End house are very near by.

We are 30 mins drive from Stansted Airport and approx 40 mins from Luton Airport. We are 15 mins drive from the M11, 10 mins from A10 and 20 mins from A1.

There are also very good train connections from London Kings Cross, London Liverpool Street and Cambridge. Cambridge itself is approx 25 min drive away.

“Beautiful appartment in a great quiet location for a relaxing break.” We had a fantastic 5 night break here. We wanted to recharge the batteries and we certainly did. We ate outside on the table and chairs provided and we were very lucky with the weather - an unexpected scorcher! We were greeted by the owners who made us very welcome and provided some info about great pubs and places to visit. The appartment is finished to a high standard and all you could ever need in the kitchen in terms of crockery/utensils etc. Perfect location for visiting cambridge and the surrounding rural villages. If you want to escape to the country for a break then this would be ideal.
