With three double and two twin bedrooms, this spacious 4 star villa can comfortably accommodate ten people. The intimate patio with its pergola, garden furniture and barbecue enables you to dine al fresco, while the young and young at heart can enjoy a game of table football or table-tennis. The patio opens onto the sun-drenched swimming-pool area, sheltered by a thick hedge and its covered pool.
Situated in a lively and sunny region, our villa is a wonderful spot for family holiday, close to lots of attractions but set in peaceful surroundings. Whether you want to have a relaxing or an action-packed holiday, this is the right spot !

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region
The Charente Maritime area of France is situated on the west coast between Nantes and Bordeaux. Charente Maritime nearly boasts as much sunshine as the French Riviera. This is a beautiful region of France where vineyards, oyster farms, beaches abound, not to mention historic places and Romanesque churches.
Safe family beaches with calm waters or endless wild sandy beaches, lined by sand dunes and pine forests, a paradise for nature lovers or watersports enthusiasts, we have them all ! These beaches offer a wide range of watersports ( windsurfing, sailing, pedaloes, jet-ski in Royan, etc) The aptly named “ Wild Coast ” - “La Côte Sauvage ” stretches out from Saint-Palais to Ronce-les Bains: famous for its waves, it is the meeting point of surfers.
The region is also famous for its cultural heritage: medieval Romanesque churches of all kinds abound. Saintes was one of the halts on the Santiago de Compostella pilgrim route. The old harbour and the city of La Rochelle, the citadel of Brouage, Rochefort and its maritime heritage, Saintes and its Roman ruins, the pretty town of Talmont, near the Gironde estuary are but a few examples of the cultural wealth of the region.
Last but not least, discover our typical products: try tasty Charentais melons, grown in open fields- Charentaise "galette", fish, shellfish -oysters and mussels are famous here-, salt from the local marshes, local wines, Pineau and Cognac ! The vineyards of Cognac are worth a visit.
Royan / Saujon area
Saujon, Royan and its region have a lot to offer: Romanesque churches contrasting with Royan's architecture of the fifties', beautiful sandy beaches, a wide range of sports, -not to mention the remarkable 18 hole golf course, situated in the pine forest-, lovely landscapes dominated by sunflower fields and vineyards, pine forests near the “ Côte Sauvage ”, bustling resorts or typical villages, and … its wonderful summer weather, as it is the second sunniest region in France.
One of the "musts", for all ages: the zoo de La Palmyre, one of the most visited places of interest in Charente Maritime.
Whether you want to have a relaxing or an action-packed holiday, this is the right spot !
Saujon is ideally situated, close to Royan and the Atlantic Coast, near Saintes and not far from Bordeaux.The town has 2 large supermarkets, 2 discount stores, lots of shops, a lively market, bars and restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes.
A few recommanded attractions in Saujon: * “ L’espace de la Lande”, our “ common ” and its lake : walking, cycling (bike hire in town), fishing , picnic area, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pool, fitness trail course. *Fishing in the Riberou port. * Horse or pony trekking (“ Poney Club ”, riding in the countryside, along River Seudre, passing oyster farms etc) * Thalassotherapy in Saujon * The local fair, not to be missed ! on the second Monday of the month and the daily market (from Tuesday to Saturday),here you can get the regional specialities. * Board the “ Little Train ” and discover River Seudre and the marshes. ( The train travels from Saujon to Mornac and La Tremblade).
How to get there
By plane : * Nearest airport is La Rochelle : the villa is only a 45 minute drive away. Lots of cheap flights available with the following Airlines: Jet2, Easyjet,Flybe, Ryanair,AerArann Many rental car agencies : book your rental car before arriving, a rental agent will be waiting for you at the airport upon your arrival.
* Bordeaux airport is another option: it is just one and a half hour drive from our villa. A10 motorway, exit 37 and D730 from Mirambeau to Royan. Cheap flights are available from Dublin, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Bristol, Southhampton . Rental cars are situated in the airport hall A (arrivées)
By ferry: Saint Malo: 4h30 / Caen: 6h / Calais:8h
By train: * TGV from Paris-Montparnasse to La Rochelle in less than 3 hours. (Car rental: AVIS opposite the station - Tel: 05 46 41 13 55) * TGV from Paris-Montparnasse to Niort and then TER to Saujon (direction Royan). The station is just 1km away from our property.
By road Saujon is not far from the A10 motorway (which links Paris to Bordeaux). Motorway A10, exit Saintes (25 minutes driving to our villa)

Further details indoors: * All the rooms are tastefully decorated -Japanese, Moroccan, South Pacific styles. * Three bedrooms, a separate WC and a bathroom -with a shower and a double balneo bathtub- are located on the ground floor, which can be useful for those who may have difficulties climbing stairs. * In the games room,kids will find different board games and adults who would like to keep fit can train with an abdo exerciser or walk on a treadmill. * All bedrooms have built-in cupboards and wardrobes. * For guests with young children : - the stairs are equipped with safety gates - oven and induction hob stay cold (no risk of burned fingers). * For those with laptops, we offer a wireless broadband internet access (WIFI) via ADSL .
Further details outdoors: Make the most of the patio. We have provided table and chairs. Try having your breakfast out here, a nice glass of wine, enjoy a meal on the barbecue or simply sit back and relax by the Tiki fountain ... Have fun outside, too ! Table football, tennis table in the patio- badminton, cricket etc and the swimming pool are waiting for you. Unwind in the spacious fenced swimming pool (12 x 6 m ) or on the sun loungers in the swimming pool area. It is secluded by a thick hedge, fenced ,closed by a gate and adorned with two Tiki statues.
The private swimming-pool is covered to meet French pool safety requirements and makes a safe and fun-filled environment for children. The cover also enables you to swim at all times, as it keeps the water clean, nice and warm (summer temperature: 24 ° to 30 ° celsius ~75,2 to 85 ). The pool and its area can be lit at night, for more entertainment, under our clear skies.
Nature lovers will enjoy birdwatching: we are members of the Bird Life Association (LPO) and we have provided nesting boxes in the garden.
* Cars can be parked either in the double car garage or outside: there is ample private parking in front of the garage.

* Our changeover day is Saturday. Arrival is from 4pm and departure is by 10am.
* Directions, key instructions etc. will be sent out when we receive the full balance.
* The property will be left as clean and tidy as you found it on your arrival, otherwise 100 euros will be deducted.
* Exclusions : no smoking in the villa.

A 400 € non-refundable deposit per week is required at the time of booking.

Payable with the balance, a 1500 € security deposit cheque against damage, which will not be cashed and which is returnable within two months of departure if the property has been left in the order it was at the beginning of the stay (in accordance with French legislation).
