The Brewhouse - Contemporary New York Loft Style, Luxury Self Catering Holiday Accommodation.

This luxury self-catering “New York” loft style apartment in Plymouth faces over the Royal William Yard Marina and has a stylish lounge with exposed beams, stone walls, oak floors and half moon floor windows, allowing to see thea view from sitting down in the aparment. The aparmtent is split on two levels with a contemporary staircase to the upper floor and bedrooms. The Brewhouse is located in the Brewhouse buildling within the Royal William Yard.

This holiday accommodation and luxury aparment, has been converted, furnished and decorated to the highest possible standard in a modern contemporary design. The design is clean, contemporary and restrained in contrast to the dark, rich historic atmosphere, emphasising the ancient and the new. A modern designer kitchen, luxury bathroom and entertainment systems have tastefully been installed. This apartment is truly a superior Plymouth holiday apartment with the highest luxury specification, design and detail.

The Royal William Yard in Plymouth originally conceived by Samuel Pepys when he was secretary to the Navy in the 17th century and constructed by Sir John Rennie between 1825 and 1831. Designed as both a factory and supply depot for ships victualling needs, here the Royal Navy refuelled with rum. It continued to supply right up to its closure in the early 1990s, which has now been redeveloped into a world-class development.

The Brewhouse holiday accommodation and serviced apartment is centrally located on the Plymouth waterfront, close to all attractions and facilities.

The Brewhouse is a sophisticated luxury apartment with fantastic views and overlooking the marina in the Royal William Yard. It is a popular apartment, and if you require more space for your guests, the Brewhouse can be booked with The Royal William another luxury sea views apartment. Both apartments face each other in opposite buildings over the Royal William Marina.

As the apartment overlooks the Royal William Marina (Royal William Yacht Harbour) there is also the availability of berths within the Marina. The Berth fees vary on the size / length of the boat and period of stay. The period of stay is either short stay (4 hours), 24 hours, weekly or Monthly. Therefore it is possible to moor you boat within the Royal William Yard and overlook your yacht or powerboat from the luxury sea views apartment.

In addition to the Royal William Marina there are also berths available at Mayflower marina, which is opposite the Royal William Yard.

There is also a regular water bus (ferry service) from the Royal William Yard, which transports people to the Barbican in the centre of the city and operates from the 1st May to the 30th September.

Within the Royal William Yard there is the Seco Lounge restaurant and bar, Prezzo restuarent, River Cottage restuarent, Martin Bush Gallery, the University of Plymouth Fine Arts exhibitions and the Royal Navy visitor centre. There is 24 hour security in the Royal William Yard.

Mount Edgcumbe country park is just on the opposite bank of the river Tamar from the Royal William Yard with a frequent passenger ferry connection. The foot passenger Cremyll ferry that goes to Mount Edgcumbe is a 5 minute walk.

Parking at the Brewhouse is £2.50 per day. Arranged by Luxury Sea Views. Normal parking at the Royal William yard is now pay and display, and on a vehicle registration recognition system.

"Excellent location"

Service prior to arrival and on arrival excellent. Property clean and had all necessary items. Front door was a bit difficult to lock at times, lights on stairs didn't always come one but both these are really minor issues. Best thing was location and nearby restaurants.

"A breath of life in the heritage buildings"

Loved staying at these Napoleonic victualling buildings. Beautifully restored to feature the old while providing today's comforts. Biggest dilemma - stay in, go out to the on site restaurants and bars or explore the region. Tried to do it all but will need to return to finish the challenge.

"Pack your bikini not your bed socks"

Our apartments are competitive in the market and offer alternative's with mid range hotels. We are pleased you had a discounted rate on your initial booking.

We are disappointed that you did not air your dissatisfaction during your inspection of the apartment on arrival, show around, meet and greet.
We do have a policy if guests are dissatisfied on the inspection that we offer a refund for alternative accommodation for the guest. We recommend the Holiday Inn in Plymouth as alternative accommodation if required.

We are also disappointed that you did not air any of your dissatisfaction during your stay to allow our Team to review and assist.

We understand that the bedrooms were hot and our cleaner / property manager came around immediately to assist on opening the windows. Yes the apartment is a loft apartment in the roof of the Brewhouse building.
The Loft windows are opened using a mechanical actuator system. The switches are at the bottom of the stairs and at the top of the stairs.
Air flow can be increased by opening the windows on the lower floor and the roof windows.

We understand that fans are also installed in the apartment rooms.

You must appreciate the apartments in the Royal William Yard are award winning, high specification and in listed Heritage 1 listed buildings. Alteration of the apartments is not an option.

For future bookings in our opinion, we may recommend that a serviced apartment is not appropriate for this guest and that high end hotels may be an option to review. Although more expensive than our properties may resolve some of this guests expectations.

We hope you enjoy your future stays in Plymouth.

"Would have been nice if it had all been there when we arrived"

After a long drive from Buckinghamshire and after my parents had flown in from the Middle East we arrived at the Royal William Docks to be met by a friendly lady who was going to show us into the apar… More

Unfortunately on the guests arrival, the apartment did not meet with their expectations. We do not think we are able to meet their expectations today or the future. We immediately offered them a full refund on arrival and details of alternative vacant apartments / properties or if rather hotels.
This offer of good-will was refused and the guest still chose to stay.

Unfortunately the guest had a misunderstanding with the parking. There is no physical permit. Guests vehicles are put on an electronic system before guests arrive and the vehicles entry / exit into the Royal William Yard complex is by a photograph identity system on the gates. It recognises the vehicles. This allows the guest to park in areas around the Royal William Yard.
No parking fee was charged and none taken from the deposit, as a good-will gesture.

There is no dishwasher with this apartment and none is advertise. None of our apartments in this building in Royal William Yard have dishwashers. Other apartments we have in Royal William Yard in other buildings have dishwashers and can be reviewed if required for a booking.

The bracket that held the adjustment of the shower head vertically had failed. The bracket was ordered and replaced. During the guest stay it was fixed at a fixed height and functional. During changeover the replacement adjustable bracket was installed.

The apartment is serviced after 7 days for a weekly clean and linen change if staying two weeks. This guest stayed 9 nights. More frequent cleans less than a week, can be organized prior to bookings.

The random plug sockets as stated by the guests, are additional plug sockets the award winning architects designed for European plugs. And the others are for floor standing lights that can be controlled with dimmers switches on the wall.

Apartments in the Royal William Yard are of high specification, contemporary and the Architect winning many awards.

The guests expectations and expectations of the apartment we think, believe and in our opinion could not be met in a high specification serviced apartment.

"Lots of positives"

Great location and the apartment has huge personality and lots going for it. Only frustration was the small bed (especially when the bed base was bigger than the mattress!) and the heat! The bedrooms and bathroom get very hot and stuffy. We loved the building, the restaurants/bars and easy access to great walks etc. The booking process and key hand over etc, was very well handled. A mattress that fits the bed base and fans upstairs would make this place 'spot on'

We understand upstairs was hot with the good summer we have had. It is possible to open the roof windows. This is a mechanical system as obviously in the roof can not be reached. There is a switch on the wall in the dining room at the bottom of the stairs for one side. And at the top of the stairs to open the windows fully in the bedroom.
Open the roof windows allows the hot air to escape. Opening the lower floor windows at the same time with the roof windows creates a wind and air passage.
