The Royal Westmoreland Estate boasts some excellent leisure facilities, available exclusively to Royal Westmoreland home owners and guests. Golf doesn’t get much better than at Royal Westmorland’s world-class 18-hole championship golf course - a 6,870 yard par 72 course of unrivalled beauty, with views of the shimmering ocean from every hole, and a layout to test every club in your bag. US Masters Champion Ian Woosnam - a homeowner at Royal Westmoreland - says the par 3s are some of the best he's played anywhere in the world. Bunkers abound, but considerable use has been made of the natural environment, with the 5th and 6th holes using an old coralstone quarry, and the 12th par 3 challenging the lowest of handicaps with its tight green bordering a ravine. Each hole has several tees to accommodate every level of play. At the heart of the golf course stands the elegant, colonial-style Clubhouse with sweeping views over the emerald fairways to the deep blue Caribbean Sea. This is home to the Clubhouse restaurant and golf pro shop with an extensive range of golf equipment, clothing and merchandise.
Other leisure facilities based at The Sanctuary are also exclusively available to Royal Westmoreland guests, including outdoor and children's pools, superb gymnasium, yoga and pilates classes, the Tennis Academy and Garden Courts, and the children's 'Kidz Club'. The Indulgence Spa beauty and pampering centre offers a range of carefully selected treatments delivered by professional therapists. Treatments can also be enjoyed in the privacy of your own villa.

The St James Parish region
Barbados is one of the Caribbean's loveliest islands. Ringed by turquoise seas and white sandy beaches, and blessed with a verdant landscape, superb climate and gracious, friendly people, it's recognised as a major second home and holiday destination in the Caribbean, particularly amongst high net worth individuals and celebrities. For centuries, Barbados has been a haven of luxury, refinement and gentle goodwill, with a blend of local colour and proud tradition. Bajans are probably the friendliest people you could ever meet, and you'll soon warm to the relaxed lifestyle of this island paradise. The tropical climate provides an average temperature of 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit (23-30 Celsius) and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine.
The Royal Westmoreland Golf Resort area
The parish of Saint James ("St. James") is an area located in the western part of the country of Barbados. Increasingly St. James is being known as the playground of the rich and famous, and haven for sun-starved tourists.
In local colloquium, St. James was known as the "Gold Coast", but due to ongoing popularity it is now referred to as the "Platinum Coast", reflective of the parishes many glitzy beach-front mansions, pristine beaches, luxury hotels and almost ridiculous land prices. Many Barbadians say within the Platinum Coast there are as many as, 18 global billionaires own property somewhere within a 6-mile stretch of beach on the island.
The parish also has great historic significance, as it was here that the first British settlers landed in 1625. Under the authority of King James, the British claimed Barbados upon landing in St. James' present-day city of Holetown (formerly Jamestown, named after the King himself), this settlement turned Barbados into what would later be known as "Little England".
As the sole parish that combines good shopping, excellent eating, and the chance to hob-nob with the who's who's of Hollywood and beyond, St. James is the gem of Barbados' bustling tourist industry, with attractions steeped in history from the St. James Parish Church, to the Portvale Sugar Factory - one of the few operational sugar factories on the island.
Though a haven for tourists and foreign expatriates, St. James is far from exclusive. As one of the bigger parishes, it is home to over 20,000 nationals strewn across its many districts, across various social strata. The parish is home to the prestigious Queen's College, one of the foremost schools not only in Barbados, but the Caribbean, founded over a century ago by a British plantation owner by the name of Col. Henry Drax. At its most rural, the parish's many villages (such as the seafront "Fitts Village") are abuzz with activity, near-familial camaraderie, and an active social atmosphere.

Thank you Richard and Maggie for setting up the luxury vacation of our dreams at Forest Hills 25 at Royal Westmoreland. I went here with my wife, our first trip married, oct 21-28. Everything was fantastic, from the meet and greet service to the daily housekeeping. The Forest Hills pool is private and steps from the villa. We were the only ones using it during our entire vacation. We really enjoyed outdoor dining on your beautiful terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The views are incredible! What a way to spend a holiday, basking in luxury throughout the day at the white sand Beach Club and winding down with drinks on the terrace watching the sun set into the sea. The Beach Club deserves special mention. We received our Resort Membership Cards upon check-in and when we got to Mullins Beach we presented them and were treated like long-time members from the first moment we arrived. Towel service, plush beds, umbrellas are all included. There is also drink service on the beach, but we brought our own beer in a cooler and saved a ton. There is no problem with doing this! There are many great dining options in Holetown nearby and the conceirge makes great suggestions. Or simply go to Smokey's Fish Stand nearby and pick up some tuna steaks and BBQ them on the terrace. Either way, many wonderful food options. I will definitely be returning this time next year and will be contacting you shortly to confirm my booking! |

Do not confuse the Forest Hills Villas with the Cassia Heights that are much smaller and of lower quality and in a less desirable location in the resort. Furthermore, not all Forest Hills Villas are created equal. Come see for yourself, Forest Hills 25 is 15% larger with an extended fully covered cathedral style terrace and double sized master bedroom with walkout.
Prices quoted are 'all-inclusive' and include daily maid service, wifi internet, satellite tv, and access to a gourmet BBQ located on the private fully covered terrace.
