About the home

The apartment is located 50m from the main square, right in the centre of the old town of Rovinj, a charmingly picturesque town with narrow, cobbled streets. Rovinj is very lively with numerous cafes and restaurants, galleries and an active fishing port, so in the morning you can watch the fishermen come in as you have your breakfast. Rovinj has remained well preserved and unblemished by mass tourism.

The beautifully restored one bedroom second floor apartment has a large, bright and airy open plan living area of 52m2 comprising fully furnished lounge, dining area with seating for 4 people, fully fitted kitchen, large second floor double bedroom (which also includes an additional small single bed), bathroom and two WCs. The apartment is nestled right in the heart of the old town approx 50m from the main square and within easy walking distance to all amenities including harbour, restaurants, shops, the market square and bathing areas, making it the ideal location for your stay in Rovinj.

The region is also rich in delicious shellfish, from oysters glistening on their shells to salads of octopus and potato, scented with garlic and dressed with the rich local olive oil. You'll also find langoustines, crab and the famous mussels of the Lim Channel. You should also sample the delicious typically Croatian risotti of tender squid, the rice black with iodine-rich ink

The Rovinj islands & mainland - These natural sights have been justly described as "outstanding scenic wonders", because of the pristine beauty of the indented coastline and its forests, consisting of holm oak and Alpine pine trees. This area "of outstanding natural beauty" extends from Sv. Ivan promontory to Barbariga, including all the Rovinj islands and the mainland 500 metres from the shore line.

The Limska draga fjord - This flooded karstic canyon, which has been declared "a special maritime reserve" and "an area of outstanding natural beauty", is a testimony to the climatic changes and geological evolution of Istria. With its emerald green sea and varied vegetation this is one of the most beautiful fjords on the Adriatic coast. Romuald's cave is situated here.

The "Zlatni rt" Forest Park - Together with Dubrovnik's Trsteno park, the "Zlatni rt" is the most important park on the Croatian side of the Adriatic. Apart from thousands of indigenous and domesticated plants, such as the groves of holm oaks and Alpine pines, the deep shade in this age-old park is also created by many foreign plants, such as the ceder, the pine and some ten species of cypress, which all contribute to the park's distinctly Mediterranean atmosphere.

The nearest airports to Rovinj are Pula (40 km away) and Rijeka (145 km away). Ryanair fly from Stansted and Dublin to Pula. In addition, Easyjet and Thompsonfly have flights to Rijeka or Pula at some times of the year. Airlines are constantly changing their schedules so it is worth checking what is available.
Rovinj is very close to Italy, and Ryanair fly to Trieste (150 km) several times a week. Trieste is only about one and a half hour's drive away.

We can arrange for guests to be picked up from Pula airport.

“Fantasic Appartment great location” Great appartment situated just outside the old town in a lovely quite street and close to everything. Very well furnished with everything you need for a great stay. Kept very clean and tidy, stairs are a challenge the first day but you soon get used to them, would definately stay again.

“Lovely Apartment & Beautiful Place” Lovely apartment nestled in the old part of the town close to all the restaurants and bars . Set at the back of the building so really quiet in the evenings. The apartment is well equipped and modern. We stayed for a week and there was more than enough to keep us amused in Rovinj, we only managed to sample half the restaurants but they were all very good. It's worth hiring bikes and follow the path around the harbour where you will find some lovely pine forest beaches.
