From this villa you could easily explore the sights of this fishing town on foot, or head down to the marina and take a trip out to one of the offshore islands. Boats also go out to the Baron Gautsch, a famous wreck off the Croatian coastline and one of the most popular diving spots in the Mediterranean. You could even take a ferry across to Venice for a romantic day trip.
The area around Rovinj itself also has a lot to offer, so you could also hire a bike and go and explore this attractive part of the country.

Istrian peninsula, terra magica, it's a region on the Coast of the Adriatic sea. On the west side of the peninsula its located for almost 2.000 year town with name Rovinj, one of the most touristic City in Istria and Croatia. The City region is a 142 km2 and it has about 12.000 residents.

“a weekend to remember” Vila Kristina
Last September my husband and I decided to get married in Rovinj, because the town is so pretty and picturesque and we wanted to have a weekend that we and all of our guests would remember forever. But all of this wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for family Kiš; when we decided to stay at their Vila Kristina, they helped us with the wedding in so many ways (they helped us find the restaurant, the florist, the hair dresser, organize the boat ride after the ceremony...) But not only that! They prepared us a small banquet before the ceremony in the Vila Kristina (Mr Kis is an excellent chef!), which we enjoyed a lot - and it helped to ease the tension! All of our 40 guests stayed in the Vila for two days and truly enjoyed their clean and spacious rooms and excellent breakfast. Some liked it so much they decided to prolong their stay! So in the end it was really a weekend to remember and now we all have a reason to come back over and over again!

Croatialuna -------------------------------------------------- “Great place to stay!” Vila Kristina
Enjoyed our stay at Vila Kristina (Hotel Family Kis) for 5 nights in September 2007. Our double room was a good size with a balcony. There was a small television, but we didn't watch it while we were there. Everything was clean.
Walking distance is about 10-15 minutes from the old town and the bus station. It took less than 10 minutes to walk to the water and some nearby restaurants. There is also a Konzum market up the street.
Breakfast includes some bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, juice and coffee or tea.
The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.
It can be a little noisy later in the evening when other guests come in, but usually it was pretty quiet. Also of note: their website quotes rates in euros but we paid in kuna.

This family run hotel was excellent. Everyone was friendly & helpful including the family dog, Don. We had booked a room but actually were assigned an apartment for the same price (No. 9) which was very spacious & comfortable with 2 balconies. It was great value for money with a good breakfast, parking across the road & 10 minute walk to the water. I would recommend booking directly with the hotel as there are further savings to be made. In comparison to hotels located just around the corner, it was exceptionally good value. If we go to Istria again, we will definitely book in for a return stay.

We recently visited Rovinj, Croatia and the charming Hotel Vila Kristina was one of the highlights of our visit. We arrived in Rovinj and went direct to the hotel we had booked over the internet(Hotel Montauro). It turned out to be a big disappointment so based on the recommendation of the desk clerk at the Hotel Eden next door(which was fully booked so we couldn't stay there) we walked across the street to the Hotel Vila Kristina Fortunately they had one of their 12 rooms available so we quickly checked out of the Montauro and moved to the hotel Family Kis which is just a 3 block walk to Rovinj's picturesque harbor.. Our room was nicely furnished with a clean, well lighted bathroom and a balcony that overlooked the garden. The rate of only 60 euros/day included a delicious breakfast of juice, coffee, fresh baked breads and pastries and tasly meat and cheese. Each morning of our 4 day stay the owner Kristina and her daughter, Cindy(they speak fluent englsh) sent us on our way with tips and maps of all the must see places in the Rovinj area, including Porec, Pula and the beautiful little hill towns and castles nearby. We loved this gorgeous area right on the Adriatic and will try our best to return in the next few years. Rovinj is a lovely little city and we rank this area of Croatia right up there with Tuscany and the Cinque Terra in Italy. It is still an inexpensive place to visit and the people are so friendly and accommodating. Enjoy your stay!!!
