Our apartments are situated in one of the most popular parts of Rovinj, Centener, a peaceful residential area only 10 minutes walk from some of the best Rovinj beaches and beautiful forest park and 15 minutes walk from the Old town. The closest supermarket is only 5 minutes away as is the first restaurant and coffee bar, cash point, tourist agent, pharmacy, car and bike rental places and a children play ground.
HANSEL Apartments have been granted the DOMUS BONUS certificate by Istrian Tourist Board for quality accommodation that complies with the specially defined criteria.
We are open all year round and would be happy to help you organise your holiday in Istria and share the knowledge of this unique area.

The apartment is 49 m² situated on the first floor of the building with an easy access for children and elderly.
South facing with a large terrace with sliding windows that can be opened or closed depending on the weather. An extra single divan bed on the terrace for possible afternoon nap which can be brought in if needed and in case of more than 4 people occupying the apartment.

Pick up from Rovinj ferry port or bus station free of charge, please arrange in advance.
Pula airport pick up possible, please enquire. The journey by car is about 30 minutes.
The best meeting point for those who arrive by car is Lidl car park, please ask for the directions.
At your arrival to Rovinj we will provide you with a map of Rovinj and Istria and explain the local area.
We can also provide a mobile phone with a Croatian SIM card.

The Istria region
Situated in the direct proximity of the Western European civilization on one side and on the border of a different cultural milieu on the other, Istria has an enviable history, written at the crossroads of three large European cultures- Slavic, Roman, and German.
Millennial political claims, incessant tensions, and the division of this small area among various states and political influences of dominant European powers decisively influenced the specificity of life and variety of cultural influences on the Istrian peninsula. Through the peninsula, since the ancient times, roads went from the Mediterranean to mid-Europe, or the area of Pannonia and the other way round.
Through the tumultuous Istrian history, we mark frequent changes of rulers - from the Roman Empire and Byzantium, through the Frank State, the Aquileian Patriarchy, Venetian Republic, the Pazin County, Illyric Provinces, Austria, Italy, to Yugoslavia.
On this turbulent area, historic events were caused by frequent migrations and refugees, which also causes the changes of population, traditions, and cultures. Numerous nations left their traces in this area: the Liburni, the Histri (after whom the peninsula was named), the Greeks, the Celts, the Romans, the Ostrogoths, the Byzantines, the Langobards, the Croats, the Franks, the Venetians, the Austrians, the Italians ...

When you go up to the Old Town that is squeezed on a narrow peninsula, when you walk through its steep meandering lanes, cobbled squares and campiellis, you enter the centuries past by.
To stop in front of the baroque town hall (17th century), enter the church of St.Euphemia (18th century), take a look of the Chapel of Holy Trinity (13th century), breathe in the peculiar air of the old manuscripts in the Franciscan monastery (18th century), wander through the Town Museum, stop and listen when the Clock strikes the magical Rovinj hours...
You have just started a trip through a seventeen centuries old town.
CENTENER
Carefully positioned on the south side of Rovinj Centener is a predominantly residential area with a large selection of private tourist accommodation. Its proximity to the best of Rovinj beaches, quiet residential roads with plenty of parking space and a well equipped supermarket make it very popular by the locals and visitors.
Once you reach the sea, going to the east will take you through a number of the best Rovinj camping sites each with their own swimming pool and catering facilities while going to the west will reveal the best part of the protected forest area and its secluded beaches with plenty of sun and shadow.
And at no point you will loose the view of the local islands nor the view of the fishing boats and luxury yachts that frequently circle this part of Rovinj coast.
LOCAL ACTIVITIES
This is the town of world regattas, international tennis tournaments, but it primarily belongs to recreation sportsmen and amateurs, who play, run and swim just for the fun of it. Besides the recreational activities which you can find in large cities - from bowling and tennis to mini-golf and basketball - this town offers you all the things that you cannot find at home. So if you feel like facing the challenge of sailing, underwater fishing, paraflying - you have come to the right place. Or maybe riding? Why not try the unique experience of riding through forest "grown" out of the sea?
In tourist resorts, in hotels and on camping sites you will find all kinds of recreational facilities. On the sea: a water - skiing school, sailing, water bikes. On land: a tennis school, tennis courts, volley-ball, basketball, a riding school, bowling, soccer, darts, a gymnasium, a massage parlour and a sauna.

If you opt for a bus service than only possibility to get to Rovinj for the moment is to take a bus to Pula main bus station and change for a bus to Rovinj.

For the guests who are staying for a week or longer car hiring is highly recommended. Although Rovinj is one of the most beautiful locations in Istria the rest of the peninsula is also very appealing. One to two days driving around would be enough to see a good part of it. No disappointment guaranteed!
