Dog and cat lovers:-
There are 4 shy but friendly dogs and 7 cautious cats on the property so regretfully we cannot accept your pets.

The Languedoc-Roussillon region
The Languedoc Roussillon, which includes the Hérault is simply magnificent. It is where the Cathars were established between the 12th and 14th centuries. Even today you can imagine villages hidden and protected from the outside world with guards posted to warn of intruders.
The villa is set in the fortified village of Roujan (34320); 21 kms from Beziers Airport, 28 kms by road from the renowned Mediterranean beaches of Valras & Serignan, - 55 mins from Narbonne, Montpellier and Sète - under 2 hours to the Spanish border.
This is a relatively undiscovered destination, between the sea and the mountains, that begs to be explored. Close by you will find:-
• long sandy beaches and seaside resorts
• numerous gourmet restaurants
• vineyards, wineries – discover high quality, interestingly distinctive, wines
• fishing villages and oyster-farms
• markets with tempting regional produce
• the mountainous National Parks of the Haut-Languedoc and des Cévennes
• the Garrigue, Mediterranean moorlands great for hikes, or just wander around in the peaceful olive groves or up the Canal de Midi
• chateau's (castles) and Cathar vestiges, and
• dozens of sporting activities Adventure parks, Billiards, Boating, Boules, Caving, Ceramics, Cycling, Fishing, Flying, French tuition, Go karting, Golf, Gourmet dining, Hiking, Horse riding, Mountain biking, Paragliding, Photography, Rambling, Rock climbing, Sailing, Shopping, Sightseeing, Swimming, Tennis, Walking, Water skiing, Wind Surfing, Wine tasting, Wine touring, horse riding, tennis, even terra sailing on Narbonne plage
• culture: - a wide and rich choice throughout the summer months - numerous cultural, art, theatre and music festivals. Montpellier boasts an Opera House. There are Jazz and Rock concerts too.
The cities of Carcassonne, Montpellier, Narbonne, Sète, Nimes and Perpignan are literally steeped in history. Each one has its own story to tell going back 2000 years with multiple points of interest - guided tours, museums ........ and in tune with modern times their Shopping Centres.
A little further away (for a long and unique day out) you might want to visit Van Gough's Arles and/or the Camargue.
So, whatever your interests a vast range of events and activities are within easy reach, you could even see a Bullfight, which indeed, is not to everyone's taste!
Roujan itself: - the fortified village of Roujan was in fact founded by the Romans. Today the "city" gates can still be seen. It is a typical OC' vigneron village but less sleepy than many, in fact economically dynamic, with an active tourist office grouping together the Communauté de Communes Avants-Monts du Centre Hérault - Terroirs Faugères & Thongue, and a wealth of amenities all within easy walking distance, including:-
• a Supermarket and Mall
• Bistros and village Restaurants
• Butchers and Bakers
• a comprehensive Medical Centre, Pharmacy and Opticians
• Petrol Stations and Garages
• a cooperative Winery.
Pézenas is a Medieval Market town with an incredible if slightly decrepit old town centre. Molière is very much linked to the town. There is a major street market every Saturday full of local produce.
There is a "sometime" medieval atmosphere that lingers, as though this part of the world was frozen in time. Bédarieux, for example, has a 1950's look and feel to it. The first European Medical School was established in Montpellier, and thrives today. But, in the nineteen century wine became the dominant activity and the OC remains the highest volume wine producing area in the EU.
This is perhaps why this beautiful spot is not jam-packed with tourists (unlike the very crowded Côte d'Azur). We are located between the sea and the mountains. There is so much to discover, natural beauty and SPACE.
