Home description
The house is situated in a tranquil and picturesque setting in the Haute Languedoc National Park in the South of France midway between Toulouse and Beziers on the outskirts of a small hamlet near Mazamet. Sleeping up to 6 people, the house has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds that can be zipped together to make one very big bed! There is also a double sofabed in the lounge. There is a stereo and a television which is not connected to any TV stations or satellite but can be used with the DVD, video or playstation 2. The property also has it's own private swimming pool which has been fitted with a safety cover in line with French regulations.

Rouairoux area
The Haute Languedoc National Park is set above the bustling market town of Mazamet, it boasts four large lakes, two, Le Laouzas and La Raviege, have been fitted out for tourism and the other two, les Saint Peyres and Le Saut de Vezoles are still completely wild. These mountain lakes provide fantastic scenery and a great place for outdoor sports and activities. There is an equestrian centre within walking distance of the property and the area is ideal for walking, cycling and fishing enthusiasts. The mediterranean with its vast sandy beaches are approximately one and a half hours drive away and the cosmopolitan town of Montpelier is about 2 hours drive (140km) with its excellent shopping and cafe culture.
The nearby village of Lacabarede is home to one of the best restaurants in the area, Demeure de Flore, which provides a delicious four course set menu at an extremely reasonable price together with a fine selection of wines. Mazamet, the nearest major town, has an open air market every Tuesday and Saturday, with the occasional Fois Gras Market visiting on Sunday's during the winter.
The area is also home to the fine wine regions of St Chinian, Minervois and Gaillac all within a short driving distance from the property.

Our stay at La Cavailles has been very pleasurable. The independence and privacy allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding area.
