The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region
Cape Haze is a golden treasure on Florida's Gulf Coast and is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday.
We are 1.2 hours from Ft Meyers, 1.5 hours from Tampa and 2.5 hours from Orlando and Miami. The best time to visit is October to May when the weather is nice and warm. It is nice even the rest of the year but could be windier and more humid.
You can take a day trip to Everglades, Busch Gardens in Tampa, Miami or even Disney in Orlando but the Gulf Coast is mostly about relaxation.
Rotonda West / White Marsh area
Nearby you will find great beaches and superb restaurants for example at Boca Grande Island and on Englewood beach.
Sharkey's restaurant in Venice by the pier is a great place to dine and there you can also find shark's teeth on the beach.
In Port Charlotte there is a great shopping mall and if designer clothes are your interest the outlet stores in Ellington are just an hour away.
The area is a golfer's paradise with six courses on Rotonda and thirty more within half an hours drive. The best on Rotonda are Palms and Long Marsh but our friends say that Riverwood, Lemon Bay, Herons Creek and Bobcat Trail are a great play as well.
