The West Country region
Our home is situated nearby to local attractions for all ages. There is a bus route at the end of the lane just a two minute walk away where you can get buses to Penzance, St Ives and Helston amongst others. Within walking distance is a pub which offers great food, drink and a warm welcome to families. A short 2 minute drive will take you to a delicious local fish & chip takeaway and a Chinese restaurant renowned for it's buffets!
Other local attractions are Paradise Park, Trengwainton House, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, The Cider Farm, and the stunning Minack Theatre. Taking just a slightly longer drive will find you in Falmouth with its amazing maritime museum, St Ives with it's stunning views and the fantastic surfing beaches of Gwithian, Hayle. Other great places to visit include the Eden Project with its fascinating bio-domes and the home of Doc Martin, Port Isaac as well as Rick Steins amazing Padstow!
Praa Sands is one of Cornwall's best kept secrets, white sandy beaches with low tide rock pools are surrounded by beautiful cliffs and coastal paths, stunning sunsets and seaside scenery. A family friendly beach, there are places to eat, buy ice creams and investigate the rock pools all under the watchful eyes of the RNLI lifeguards who man the beach between Easter and September.
Rosudgeon is 6 miles from Penzance, a town with an eclectic mix of art studios, elegant historic buildings, well-stocked shops and award winning restaurants. Ideal for those who enjoy and value their leisure time, Rosudgeon is perfectly placed to take advantage of the wonderful outdoor opportunities that exist in this part of Cornwall. Great surf and surf hire facilities are on our doorstep along with the coast path and spectacular scenery - Praa Sands golf course is only minutes away.
For those who prefer a bit of history Pengersick Castle, a medieval tower, is a short walk away and there are plenty of stories about the wrecking and smuggling that took place at the bay until the 1700s. On the beach front there is a great restaurant/bar with views over the ocean, a surf shop and small cafe. The Sandbar pub does a great carvery on a Sunday and is highly recommended.
Praa Sands is a great place in both summer and winter to visit, an unspoilt gem away from the tourist trail. Lovely walks across a sandy shore, taking in the beauty and tranquility of an unspoilt beach.
