The County Down region

Set at the foot of the Mourne Mountains and close to Carlingford Lough the apartment is 500 yards from Kilbroney Forest Park.Three miles from Warrenpoint Golf Course, ten miles from Kilkeel Golf Course and 30 Miles from the Royal Down golf course at Newcastle.
Many may enjoy the golfing and hillwalking the area has to offer for others perhaps, a drive through the Mourne Mountains taking in Silent Valley, famous for having no echo! A walk in Castlewellan Forest Park, - visting Europe's largest maze or take a stroll though the National Trust's Murlough Nature Reserve.
The local Fishing Harbours of Kilkeel, Annalong and Ardglass are worth seeing. Visit Downpatrick, the County Town of Down, which is full of history, Struel Wells, St Patricks Grave and the St Patrick's Heritage centre. A few more miles from Downpatrick is the National Trust property of Castle Ward, famous for its quirky architecture and beautiful gardens. A 10 min drive will take you to the cities of Newry and a 50 min drive will take you to Belfast for a shopping spree!
The religious capital of Armagh is a 40 min drive away, where the cathedral and the planetarium are well worth a visit.


Rostrevor area

Rostrevor is a small traditional village nestling at the foot of the famous Mourne Mountains, ideal for hillwalking, sight seeing, fishing and water sports. Five minutes walk will take you to the shore of Carlingford Lough.
The apartment is ideally situated just 2 minutes walk from the village centre, pubs and shops.
Fishing is available locally.
There are also 4 golf courses - and a Blue Flag beach - within 5-10 minutes drive. The seaside resorts of Warrenpoint and Newcastle are only a short drive away.
The famous 'Fiddlers Green International' festival takes place in the last week of July and is a week of Art and Music activities. The Warrenpoint Festival takes place in the third week of August.


How to get there

Ryanair have cheap flights to Dublin from UK from as little as £14 including taxes. Dublin is about 60 miles away from Rostrevor. Airport coach will take you to Newry for £10 return from there you would have to get a bus to Rostrevor, it would be better to hire a car.
Easyjet and BMI baby have cheap flights to Belfast. It is 43 miles to Rostrevor from Belfast.
There are various ferry services to Ireland. Stranraer to Belfast [Stena Line] or Cairnryan to Larne [P & O]. Or alternatively Seacat go from Troon to Belfast and there are numerous ferries into Dublin and Dun Laoghaire.
