Ivy cottage is situated on the edge of the historic village of Rosscarbery in the south west of Cork. The cottage is about 150 years old and at one time was a thatched single storey house, around the turn of the century a first floor and new roof was added.

Within five minutes walk from the centre of the village and a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach, Ivy Cottage is in a perfect position directly opposite the saltwater lagoon which provides the cottage with unspoilt views

Close to the cottage is a pleasant childrens' playground and boat hire facilities for use on the lake.

The village has six pubs, grocery and gift shops, pharmacy and a very good fish restaurant. There is also a modern hotel nearby.

There are numerous local activities to occupy your day. The area is steeped in local history and close to unspoilt fishing villages. Whether you prefer walking, fishing, sailing, horse riding or a pleasant time in the local pub there is something to suit all tastes and enjoy the local hospitality.

Ivy cottage has three comfortably furnished bedrooms and can accommodate four people in one double, and two single beds on the first floor.

Please note that one of the single beds is situated in an open landing area between the single and double rooms. We can also accommodate a fifth family member, ideally a child sharing , for this reason the cottage is not suitable for two couples sharing.

Windows are at floor level upstairs, so please be aware if you have toddlers.

On the ground floor is a small sitting room with two sofas, an open fireplace, TV, and CD player. The kitchen/dining area has an oil fired Rayburn cooker and electric hotplates for cooking. There is a utility area with washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer leading to a bathroom with an electric shower.

At the front of the cottage is a small south facing sun terrace and garden facing the lagoon. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided.

"Great location just a pity about the cleanliness of the property."

Arrived to find a pretty dirty house I get that its supposed to be a quaint Irish cottage but my god it was not what I expected. The bedding was clean that's about all ...the kitchen utensils w… More

We have an excellent cleaner who would have been able to respond immediately to your concerns and made arrangements to sort out anything that you were unhappy with but you did not contact us during your stay. Our cleaner would also have been able to explain how to treat and separate recyclable waste correctly.
We also believe that the cottage is appropriately furnished to reflect its character, with good quality sofas, beds, furniture and kitchen utensils. If there are any items that are not up to your expectation we ask all guests to make immediate contact so we can rectify the matter without delay.
