In peaceful, tranquil countryside, this charming and sensitively restored small farmhouse enjoys its own acre of attractive south facing garden. It lies beside one of an interesting local group of stone circles, one of only 3 within all of Ireland. Just 1 mile distant are the shop and village pub in Reenascreena, whilst Rosscarbery, a popular and picturesque cathedral town, is about 4 miles as is the nearest of a series of sandy beaches and Michael Collins' birthplace. A golf driving range, whale watching boat trips and sailing can be enjoyed locally and many delights in West Cork are in easy reach. Cork Airport 45 miles.

The County Cork region
A popular and beautiful part of Ireland, County Cork on the South West has a magnificent Atlantic Coastline, with numerous Bays and Coves contrasting with the rolling farmland away from the Coast. Irelands largest county is home to Blarney Castle and Bantry. A great place for fishing and sailing, there are many pubs and quiet villages to discover.
Rosscarbery / Reenascreena area
The Carberrys -so called from Lord Carberry who owned most of South West Cork until the land reform- is one of the most picturesque and welcoming part of Ireland. Many days can be spent exploring the region, or just relaxing in the tranquility of your stone-built farmhouse. Some Ideas for exporing the area are:
Explore the local prehistoric stone circles. This part of the world is full of them and in fact there is one at the rear of the house (one of only 3 henges in the whole of Ireland !) Visit the many quaint fishing villages in the region and tasting some of the freshest seafood in Ireland Drive to the famous Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beare on easy day trips Walk the many trails along the coastline and the forests in the region Rent a boat from Baltimore, a short drive from the house, to enjoy Roaring Water Bay's hundred islands Drive along the coast to Mizen Head the Southern most tip of ireland. Take the lovely road to 17th Century Bantry House, or go further into the magnificient mountains. Visit the picturesque Castletownsend, seat of Somerville and Ross, authors of the Irish RM Drive a short distance to Beautiful Glandore. Visit the local markets in Skibbereen, one on Friday at 12 noon for home produces and a general farm market on Saturday.
How to get there
You can fly either Ryanair or Aer Lingus to Cork, Kerry or Shannon where you can rent a car. The house is 65 Kms from the Cork airport.
Numerous ferries are available from the UK and France, some of them directy into Cork which is then less than an hours drive from the house.

Reductions are available for longer term stays greater than 2 weeks outside of the high season.
Visitors should normally arrive after 1500hrs. Departures should normally be before 1100hrs. These times can be modified by prior arrangement.
Bookings must be confirmed by payment of a 25% deposit. The remainder of the payment must be paid three weeks prior to arrival.
