Home description

Approached by a private drive Coolatore is a Victorian country home built in 1866 exquisitely designed with long spacious halls, wide balconies and vaulted ceilings with large open log fires. Among some of the rooms are a comfortable library, a grand dining room, cavernous living room and a homely country kitchen. There is a well stocked playroom for all ages and a relaxing TV room. The spacious bedrooms are reached by a sweeping staircase with four poster beds in some. The seclusion of the Estate has attracted writers and musicians such as Irish writer, poet and Nobel prize winner Seamus Heaney and artist Michael Jackson. The entire house is furnished with a fantastic collection of antiques with stunning views of manicured lawns and marvellous views across the lush countryside and the whole house reflects history and times past albeit with the warmth and comfort of modern living and timeless tranquillity.
