About the home

Roquetas de Mar is an ideal all year round resort for all the family. Being very flat it is perfect for children and the elderly alike and for those of you wishing for a more hectic holiday, there is a waterpark, golf courses, go-karting, excellent shopping centre and lots, lots more. There is also a cycling lane right along the beach front and water sports during the Summer months.

The resort retains its Spanish traditions and lots of the bar/restaurants provide tapas free of charge with your lunch time beverages. Every type of Restaurant can be found in the resort from those serving very Spanish food to Indian and Chinese, from very reasonable to the more expensive for that Special Occasion.

The property comprises two double bedrooms both with fitted wardrobes and plenty of drawer space. They have ceiling fans and one with an air conditioning unit. The shower room and toilet is between the two bedrooms. A spacious air conditioned lounge comprising a modern 2 & 3 seater sofas, dresser. Also a flat screen 32'' LCD TV with English channels, DVD with a large selection of Films an X Box 360 with games for the kids, big & small.

The lounge leads to a conservatory style dining area (this also includes a double sofa bed should it be required). Glass by-folding doors lead onto the large south facing terrace which has loungers and chairs for your comfort.

The Costa de Almeria region

The City of Almeria is very similar to that of Barcelona with a Ramblas(tree lined walk way running through the middle) with lovely fountains, superb shops and churches and the walled castle Alkazabar. It is a busy port and has a very cosmopolitan feel. It is a mere 2 euros on the bus from Roquetas which takes you directly into the bus/train station from where you can get to Granada & Seville etc.

The Roquetas de Mar / Playa Serena area

Roquetas de Mar

Once a simple fishing village, Roquetas de Mar has become a modern resort well planned and compact, with a long promenade on the excellent beach.

Its mountain backdrop hides valleys of citrus groves, vineyards & sun-baked desert dunes. Most holidays centre on the pool, the many golf courses or the wide, uncrowded beautiful beach. Windsurfer & pedlos are available locally for hire. Tennis, cycling and golf are very popular in this resort. For fans of water slides etc, The Mario water park is just outside Roquetas village. For the more adventurous the large go-cart track is nearby too (free mini bus available). Excellent Spa facilities available at nearby Playa Sol Hotel.

Roquetas de Mar has plenty of Restaurants & Cafes, often with a definite Spanish accent. A good choice if you aren’t keen on the bustle of very commercialised resorts of which Roquetas is not. You will also find many bars & a few nightclubs open till the early hours.

Almeria Airport is approx 30 - 40mins drive from Roquetas and we can arrange transport if required or will supply directions if you wish to hire a car.
