The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The town of Ronda is known as the 'City of Dreams'. The town was a favourite of Hemingway's and is the home of the oldest and most famous bullring in Spain. The old and new part of Ronda are separated by the Tajo gorge that plunges to a depth of 150 meters or more. The surrounding countryside is steeped in ancient history dating back to the Moorish and Roman occupation.
Close by are the Roman ruins of Acinipo as well as the historical Cuevas de Pilata and Cuevas del Gato. The many picturesque Pueblos Blancos or 'white villages' are well worth a visit, as are the cities of Seville (home to flamenco), Granada with the stunning and much visited Moorish citidel the Alhambra and Jerez which is home to the sherry bodegas and Andalucian Dancing Horses.
Our local climate is continental with long hot summer days cooling to cool fresh evenings and during the winter months warm days with deep blue skies with cold frosty nights which require a cracking fire and central heating. Each season has its own merit, Spring is warm enough to swim and the countryside is awash with wild flowers and rolling green fields, Summer brings heat and lazy days sunbathing, swimming and relaxing, Autumn sees the days grow cooler and is ideal for walking and sightseeing and the Winter months are still warm enough to eat outside during the day and visiting places of interest without the summer crowds. The ski resorts of the Sierrea Navada are only 2hrs 30mins away.
Ronda area
Ronda is a famous bullfighting town with statues to its home bred heroes Pedro Romero and more recently the Ordonez family. The two grandsons of the famous torero Antonio Ordonez are Fransisco and Cayatano Ordonez who are among Spains top matadors. The views overlooking the gorge and Puente Nuevo (built in 1740) and surrounding countryside are spectacular.
Crossing the bridge into the Cuidad or old town a steep path heads downwards to two 18th century palaces, the Palacio de Salvatierra and the Casa del Rey Moro built on Moorish foundations. There are several churches worth visitng including the Iglesia Santa Maria La Mayor,. Ronda is also host to many interesting Tapas bars and excellent restaurants as well as the Alemeda park, a theatre and a cinema.

Guestbook for Los Olivos
Our holiday with you this year in Los Oliovs during the last 2 weeks of August few by all too quickly; what a wonderful time it was, thank you and your staff for making our stay so memorable. So pleased were we that we would love to come again next year (2009)
We arrived safely back to cold, wet, gloomy England and are feeling very down away from the sunshine of Ronda. We had a wonderful holiday and really enjoyed our stay with you. The villa was lovely and the garden exceptional - real haven of tranquillity. Our meal with you was a real highlight out of our host of lovely memories. I am sure we will visit again sometime - would like to come tomorrow! We will recommend the villas to friends.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful property and home with us. Wishing you all good things life has to offer.
The four of us had a wonderful time and the owner is a lovely woman and a delightful hostess. Very private, Easy to access many of the White Towns and especially loved Ronda
A wonderful experience,. This property exceeded our expectations in every way. Countryside, setting, furnishings, kitchen, baths, all of it! The outdoor areas are simply lovely. We enjoyed the peace, quiet and charming atmosphere.
