The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Montejaque Montejaque is a pretty Moorish white village with narrow streets of whitewashed houses and cottages (population approx. 1000). Situated in the stunning mountains of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. The village is an ideal centre for walking, wild life, cycling, horse riding, hot air ballooning, rock climbing, or for the less energetic just chilling out! The locals are very friendly and helpful and although most speak little or no English this do not seem to be a problem for visitors.
All necessities can be found in the village. There are two banks, both with ATMs. a medical centre, bakery, numerous grocery/mini supermarkets, a chemist and a small market every Thursday. The village offers a wide choice of places to eat including bars offering tapas and meals, restaurants one being in the small hotel located in the village square.
Ronda / Grazelema Natural Park area
Surrounding area Just 10 - 15 minutes away from the villa is the lovely town of Ronda. This is a historic and fascinating town, full of character and has good shops and numerous places to eat. The famous and dramatic 'Tajo Gorge,' (100 metres deep) divides the old and newer sides of the town, and is linked by an eighteenth century bridge. There are spectacular views across the gorge and out across the valley to the mountains. Ideally situated to explore other pretty pueblo blancos, towns and cities by car. Sevilla, Málaga, Jerez, Cádiz and Arcos de la Frontera, all under 1hour 30 min. The wonderful Grazalema Natural Park and lake at Zahara are well worth a visit.

What a fantastic break we had in your house in Montejaque. The villagers were kind and welcoming, the 360° views stunning. The best part for us was jumping straight into our own pool in the morning. We will be in touch soon to book our next holiday. M. V. Belgium.
