About the home

The apartment has 80 sqm., is recently refurbished and located on the top floor (with elevator) and thus utterly bright and silent. There is one room with a king size bed, another bedroom with 2 single beds . Large living-room with two couches, one of which is a bed-couch, satellite TV. The kitchen is fully equipped
The bathroom with shower has just been rebuilt.

The apartment has an autonomous heating system and all rooms have air conditioning with independent regulation. Blankets, sheets and towels are supplied. Minimum stay: 3 days.

The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped: gas cooker with 4 flames and oven, microwave, filter coffee machine, washing-machine, dishwasher, fridge, iron and ironing table.

The bathroom with shower has just been rebuilt. Hairdryer.

The Lazio region

Lazio, birthplace of two of mankind’s greatest institutions, the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church, is dominated and largely defined by its capital, Rome. Since ancient Roman times the region has been an extension of the city, where noble Roman families created their own towns and the wealthy built their villas in the surrounding countryside. Lazio is a treasure trove of the remains of age old civilizations: bridges, churches, towers, villas, monasteries, aqueducts, arches — the list is endless.

To the north of Rome are Etruscan sites and the tombs of Tarquinia, founded in the 12th century BC. The ruins of Ostia Antica, a 4th century BC port city at the mouth of the Tiber are located west of the city, with delightful beaches nearby. East of Rome toward the mountains is Tivoli, a favourite retreat for the wealthy at the height of the Roman Empire. Visit the remains of Hadrian’s Villa, completed in 134 AD, and the beautiful fountains and gardens of the Villa d’Este

The Rome / Central Rome area

The quarter is one of the most typical areas of Rome's historical centre, a few minutes' walk from the most important historical monuments: Colosseum, Forum Romanum, Basilica of St. Mary Major, Diocletian's Therms, Piazza Venezia (with 2 important exposition areas: Palazzo Venezia and Vittoriano), the Quirinal (ex papal, now presidential palace) with a breathtaking exposition area - also by its view - in the former stables, the Scuderie del Quirinale, that hosts Rome's most prestigious expos.

Numerous other historical monuments and churches are also reachable in a few minutes' walk, like S.Pietro in Vincoli with Michelangelo's newly restored statue of Moses or Nero's Domus Aurea. The area displays many shops and artisan's workshops, typical italian restaurants and pubs in the nearby small vicoli. Although the apartment lies in a very lively area, it is situated in a very calm side street. The apartment is utterly silent. Bus stops and metro (Line B, Cavour, Repubblica) close walking distance.

The flat is 200 m from the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, where important contemporary art expos are on. It is situated on Via Nazionale, one of the large 19th century avenues of Rome, with all sorts of fashionable boutiques, restaurants, pubs, snack bars, banks, exchange offices etc.

How to reach via Palermo
By car:

From the highway, take the exit for Rome G.R.A., follow the city centre directions. Then follow the signs for Termini main station/Via Nazionale. It is forbidden to drive in the centre, we suggest our guests to use parking places or private garages, located near Repubblica Square or Via Nazionale. We are just a few minutes walking from those places.

By train from Termini main station

The railway station of Rome Termini, is about 10 minutes walking distance. From the main entrance turn left on Via Cavour, walk straight on for about 200 metres, then turn right and take Via Agostino Depretis, once you have reached Viminale Square, turn left, you are in Via Palermo. You can easily reach us also by subway, take Metro line A (Battistini direction) until Repubblica stop, walk on Via Nazionale until Via Agostino Depretis crossroad. Turn right on Via Palermo.

By plane from Fiumicino airport

From Leonardo da Vinci, Fiumicino airport, you have the express train to Termini station. From 06:37 until 23:37, one every 30 minutes. It is possible to purchase your ticket at the airport, it costs € 11,00, it takes 35 minutes to reach the city. For further information http://www.trenitalia.com

By plane from Ciampino airport

From Ciampino airport with the Cotral bus you can reach the metro line A, Anagnina station; ticket cost € 1,00. Take the metro and get down at Repubblica stop. Than walk down to Via Nazionale until Via Agostino Depretis, turn right on Via Palermo. You can also take the Cotral bus that goes to Termini station; ticket costs € 5,00.
