This aristocratic apartment in the historic centre of Rome has been newly renovated to offer space, elegance, comfort and convenience to the city's most desirable attractions. The location simply could not be better, directly on the Tiber River next to Isola Tiberina (Tiberina Island), the Teatro di Marcello and Campo de' Fiori.

The apartment is on the quiet side of the building, away from the road along the river (Lungotevere dei Cenci); half of the windows open onto a large interior courtyard. Walk to the Forum, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon or across the river to enchanting Trastevere, famous for its narrow streets and cozy restaurants. But you need not cross the river to find a great restaurant. Two of our favourites in Rome — Piperno and Il Sanpietrino — are within three blocks.

The Lazio region

Rome is a city filled with exciting historical sites and artistic destinations. The wonderful thing about Rome is you can walk everywhere. There are three Romes: Historic Rome, Modern Rome, and the Vatican. Be sure to explore them all during your visit!

Rome / Campo de' Fiori area

Go to Campo de' Fiori food and market in the morning, go for a drink (an "aperitivo") in the evening. You can find many wineries. Have a fresh breakfast and choose some ham for lunch. From there, go on one or two of the suggested six walking tours of Rome as suggested and outlined in the EYEWITNESS TRAVEL GUIDE.

I strongly advise the two hour walk around BERNINI'S ROME. Everyone has his favourite restaurant in Rome.
I would, however, be sure to visit the small food shops (i.e. Roscioli famous bakery and delicatessen shop) on Via dei Giubbonari near Campo de' Fiori, with all its wonderful food shops-incredible!

Start your first evening by walking to the Piazza Navona for pizza, ice cream, and a feeling for ambiance of this wonderful city. Walk around the Area Sacra Argentina which now is a cat sanctuary, but once was a famous gathering place where Caesar was murdered by Brutus.

How to get there

The apartment is just 25 km from Leonardo da Vinci Airport, in the historical centre of Rome.

There are local taxis and train available, but I can arrange a private transfer from/for the airport (Luxury Van for more than 4 people: euros 70 - Limo for 4 people: euros 50 each transfer)

An impressive doorway leads into the stately courtyard of this 19th-century neoclassical building. Take the elevator to the second floor, where this unusually quiet and bright apartment is located.

The Cenci Apartment has just been renovated and it shines, with gleaming wood floors, freshly painted walls and an attractive, modern kitchen. The high ceilings and tall windows of the foyer give the apartment a light and airy feeling.

Two bedrooms are air-conditioned; the rest of the apartment is quite comfortable most of the time with the thick palazzo walls. Guests travelling with laptops will find the phone adapter plug connected to the phone line. The apartment is furnished with satellite TV and a stereo/CD player.

Conditions

Strictly no smoking except on the balcony.
1 The Property is available from a mutually agreed time by phone contact or e-mail with at least 1 week before notice; and the Property must be checked out with the Agent by 10 a.m. on the morning. For a later arrival (after 8.30 PM) extra payment € 50.

2 - A 30% non refundable deposit (Euro) within 4 days is payable at this time to secure the booking, and the final balance (Euro) is payable more than 28 days before arrival.

3 - Cancellations. Between 28 days and 14 days prior to arrival: refund of 50% of the balance rental paid less bank charges. Less than 14 days prior to arrival and non arrivals: no refund of the balance rental paid.
You are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance to recover these costs in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Refundable breakages deposit of euro 300 required on arrival, to be refunded at the departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
