The Lazio region

The main attractions of Lazio stem from the cities that are rich in art and culture, the most famous of these being Rome. With its monuments, churches, restaurants, theatres and other places of interest, Rome offers enough attractions for anyone interested in culture, history and religion.

Rome / Sacrofano area

Sacrofano is a small mediaeval suburb on the slopes of Mount Musino that is surrounded by lush woodlands, ideal for walking or horse-riding. There are many typical restaurants nearby, and there are many traditional festivals that take place throughout the year, such as the Palio della Stella, a mediaeval tournament and parade where people dress up in mediaeval clothes.

For racing fans, the Vallelunga race track is only 10 minutes away, but for more peace and quiet, Lake Bracciano is only half an hour from the property.

How to get there

Most airlines fly to Fiumicino; Easyjet, KLM and Expedia offer flights to Rome-Fiumicino from Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airport respectively, but for the best rates try travelsupermarket.com.

Most car hire companies also operate from Rome/Fiumicino airport, including Hertz, Avis and Corvisieri.
