The location is fantastic, you may visit all the city only with short walking. The street is in a precious and old part of Rome, with the best and finest services, in via San Martino ai Monti, 50 meters long, you have a sushi restaurant and 4 very good restaurants, an original irish pub, 3 book shops with bar inside , 2 clubs , open in the night, 2 coffees. I enjoy if you choose Via San Martino ai Monti, the children love very much the apartment , because is cosy for a family and they have so much new to see, from the same windows of the apartment , and in the same street Via San Martino ai Monti : the best pizzeria and restaurants and nearby the Colosseum with a lovely garden and the best ice of the city are overall around. The fantastic archeological museum is minutes near with gardens, and a collection of frescoes and statues.

In the same street are bicycles to rent and many little places where to seat and drink something and talk with friendly Romans who live here, you are in the center of the city in a part with best services. At home you have french window where to seat and talk together or see the sunset: is really lovely.

Heart of Rome

A super central artistic outpost.

Though its name means “mountains,” Monti is more like an island rising out of Rome's center. Invisible walls seem to separate this neighborhood from the adjacent tourist traps that border its artsy and bohemian population. In Monti, unmoneyed intelligentsia argue politics in smoky dens, vintage clothes come from London rather than Milan, and old-time craftspeople ply their trades in the streets. Monti is underground Rome, hidden in plain sight.

Its narrow side streets and hilly alleyways lend the neighborhood the air of a small village.

The area doesn't find the need to boast or brag about its artsy appeal.

Piazza Madonna ai Monti looks like a few modest steps leading up to a humble fountain, but these steps and this fountain are so much more than that.

This unassuming square is actually the center of Monti's social life.

The piazza provides residents with the same small-village feel Rome grew up with.

It serves as a recognizable meeting place and daily gathering space for friends, locals, lunchers, and artists.

Monti's Bohemian Shopping and Dining Options

Monti locals share an affinity for bohemian stylings.

From the handmade to the high-end, Monti's boutique offerings include one-of-a-kind artifacts, clothing, and jewelry.

Monti's taste for the eclectic, eccentric, and unique doesn't end at needles and thread.

Its dining options reflect its smartly stylish aesthetic, too.

Cocktails are concocted with astute skill and sleek interiors are made from repurposed exteriors.

Boutique cafes share the sidewalk with boutique clothiers. In Monti, the two complement one another.
