Casa Iulia Lucretia is an holiday apartment runs by family and it is located in the most ancient neighbourhood of Rome called "Rione Monti", on the ground floor of a historic building of the fourteenth century, right in front of a beautiful view on Forum of Augustus (Imperial Forums) and the huge columns of the Temple of Mars the Avenger.
Entering in the building of Casa Iulia Lucretia you'll immediately notice the particular and ancient romanesque column and 'sanpietrini' even on the inside.
The apartment door leads to the entrance and to the kitchen area (well equipped). In the largest room there's the wardrobe, a round dining table, a sleeping area with a double bed and a futon that opens to become a single bed. From this main room there is a little stair leads you to an anteroom where there's the washing machine and then to the comfortable bathroom with bath and shower.
Coliseum, Piazza Venezia, the Capitoline Hill, and all the surrounding archaeological sites are part of the neighborhood. Nearby there are two subway stations (Colosseo stop and Cavour stop), and buses that connect all points of tourist interest: Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, however reached by a pleasant walk, and many other art venues.
The area is full of characteristic restaurants, taverns, wine bars, pubs and much more. The building is not attached to any of those places and walls are more than a meter thick so your sleep will be very peaceful!
The area is safe, your neighbors will be our President of Italian Republic and the Mayor of Rome.
Anyway Rome is a big city, so if you are alone in the middle of night just don't ask "what time is it?" to sinister shadows in the dark!! ;)

The Lazio region
The Lazio region, or better: Latium, is dotted with little marvels to be discovered. Just as Rome is Heritage of Humanity also the wonderful Villa Adriana in Tibur (Tivoli) built by Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD, introducing the most innovative characteristics Roman architecture of that era; and the beautiful Villa d'Este, always in Tivoli, commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este, son of Lucrezia Borgia; the fascinating Etruscan Necropolis of Cerveteri and of Tarquinia are among the most important sites of the World history.
The Lazio cuisine is largely represented by the roman one. Eat where the local eat. Where? To the Castelli Romani! The area surrounding the Capital as Ariccia, rivers of wine and food!
In Lazio there's also a good craft-beer, a must that combines old and new recipes discovered!
In Lazio there are lots of borghi (little historic towns), hills, mountains and sea. The perfect synthesis is in the Circeo National Park, a protected area in the coast between Anzio and Terracina, declared a World Heritage Site because is a "biosphere reserve".
Rome, the Eternal City, any introduction is needed. During these three millennia has been the heart of civilization that influenced culture, language, literature, art, architecture, philosophy, religion, law and customs of the world in the following centuries.
The Urbe is full of activities, in Sundays Via dei Fori Imperiali is closed in order to enjoy a fantastic view running by bike or making some jogging; is full of cultural connections, from the House of Jazz or Jazz Tram, the student of poetry circles, artists, the amazing street performances often organized by the City.
As you already know Rome is so full of history that you can come without having a plan. Even just walking around you can not avoid historic surroundings, you can not avoid the marvels, you can not fail to walk those same roads used by ancient ancestors.

"Couldn't be better location!"
Our recent stay in this nice apartment was excellent. It is a great location to see many historic sites. The area was very quiet. This is right in the heart of Rome. The apartment had everything we needed. The large king bed was a real plus. The owners picked us up at the airport which made things much easier. We had great Wi-Fi service. The owners are very close by and available at all times. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone that would like to be so close to the Coliseum and many other wonderful sites.

The location is perfect, only a few meters away from the Colisseo and with stunning views of the Foro Imperiale as soon as you open the street door. The flat is one of the neatest I came across with and every single detail is perfectly took care of: beddings and towels, breakfast and cooking basics, kitchen items, tourist guides and books and even souvenirs on sale in case you didn't have time to buy them! It has a washing machine, detergents and a nice place to hang your clothes, something really useful when traveling! The bathroom has a bath tub and the shower is absolutely nice: perfect pressure, and really easy to regulate (no tricks in finding the right temperature!). The beds are really comfy and everything on the kitchen works perfectly. Wi-fi works fast and we didn't have any problem with it! Giulia came to welcome us and explain us everything and we couldn't be more thankful! She made a map of the surrounding areas for us with useful information such as markets, drugstore, pharmacies and tourist information center. And absolute must if you are planning a holiday in Rome!
