La Casa dei Gerani is a very nice apartment located at the fist floor (2nd for Americans) of a building, with a lift, in a quiet neighborhood near a park and very well served by public transport. No need to have a car, we suggest those arriving by car to leave it in the garage nearby and skip Roman traffic jams. The underground stops 2 minutes walk from the apartment, and buses too.

There are plenty of shops in the immediate surroundings, and within a few minutes walk there are supermarkets, including an ORGANIC FOOD one, fruit&vegetable seller, restaurants, pizzeria, pharmacy, bakery, bank, 24hrs cash withdrawal, coffee bar downstairs .

There is the entrance (the door is armoured), one bedroom with a big bed for two, the living-room with a sofa-bed for two and a single folding bed, the kitchen (fully equipped: cooking facilities, oven, microwaves, refrigerator with small freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, american coffee and espresso coffee machines, toaster, orange squeezer), the bathroom with the shower, no limit to the amount of hot water even if there are many of you taking the shower one after the other.

There's a baby bed upon request (we also have the baby cot, a baby chair, an electric steam sterilizer for feeding bottles, teats, soothes, etc. and a feeding bottle warmer; his plate, fork and spoon).

There is also a 6th folding extra bed, even if, for our guests' comfort, we prefer to offer the apartment to up to 5 people.

Electricity, gas, air-con and heating, WIFI, as well as cleaning lady before arrival and after departure, are included. Both rooms have TV set and separate access to the bathroom. The apartment is self-catering, but we'll make sure you'll find at your arrival some bottles of water (even if water from the tap is a good drinkable water) and something for your fist breakfast, in case you arrive too late to buy something yourself. The apartment is fully equipped and you'll find all the products for cleaning, as well as the basics for the kitchen (olive oil, salt, sugar). So you won't have to buy everything, but only those items that run out, to make sure every guest finds everything is needed for the house, without having to buy everything!.

The area is one of the better served by public transport in Rome. The new B line underground station, "LIBIA", has opened on June '12 and it is 2 minutes walk from the apartment. It takes you to the hystorical center in 10 minutes. It stops at: piazza Bologna, Termini railway station, Coliseum, Circo Massimo, Piramide, St.Paul's basilique, Eur. The Treno Metropolitano stop is 50 mt away from home, and its stops are: Tiburtina (6min), Tuscolana(14min), Ostiense(20min),Trastevere,Villa Bonelli, Magliana, Muratella, Ponte Galeria, Fiera di Roma, Parco Leonardo, and Fiumicino aeroporto in less than 1 hour (its last stop) bypassing Rome's traffic jam. Then there are buses all the time on Viale Libia shopping street (about 100 mt, 2 minutes walking distance), going to Termini station, to piazza San Silvestro (near Fontana di Trevi, via del Corso), and on Nomentana street (less than 5 minutes walking distance, some 300 mt), reaching Termini station and via del Tritone and via del Corso, in the heart of the hystoric centre. You can also easily reach the Vatican by underground, switching to the A line in Termini and stepping out at Ottaviano stop. If you want to go to Ostia beach you step on the same city train 50mt from home, step down in Ostiense station and take the Ostia Lido train there (every 10 minutes or so), it takes around one hour twenty minutes.

The train from Fiumicino airport stops a few minutes from the apt, but if you prefere or if you arrive from ciampino airport, wherte there's no train nor underground but only some buses to Termini station, we may arrange for a car with driver to be there waiting for you at the airport at a cheaper price than taxis.

A 150 € deposit will be asked upon arrival as a guarantee against damages. It will be totally refunded within 3 days from departure by bank transfer, after having checked the apartment

TOURIST TAX: From the 1st of January 2011 the mayor of Rome has put a new tourist tax that we are to ask you to pay. Every person over the age of 10 staying in Rome has to pay it, for B&B or holiday home it is a 2€ tax per day. So, please bear in mind that you'll have to add it to the deposit. For stays longer than 10 days, the tax is only due for the first 10 days.

HOUSE RULES:

In the apartment you'll find soap, detergents for houshold use, as well as coffee, sugar, salt, olive oil. You'll only have to buy those items which run out during your stay, to make sure every guest will find all what is needed in the house without having to buy everything.

Please buy at least one item, thank you!

No pets or any animal be it for therapy or not, is allowed inside the apartment. Should guests arrive with an animal or should we be informed any kind of pet has been introduced in the apartment, they would be immediately invited to leave the apartment, with no right to any refund and renouncing to the deposit, that would be used so sanitize the apartment.

We love pets, but please be respecful of those people who are allergic to some pets and to whom we offer the apartment.

We hope you're not smokers, but if you really can't avoid smoking, we'd be grateful if you could do it only in the balcony, where you have sitting places too, keeping the window-door closed. We do not allow it inside because the smell remains in the curtains and in the textiles of the furniture, and especially for guests who have babies, it would be very bad.

No parties and no drugs are allowed in the apartment.

Please be respecful of the neighbours by not keeping the music aloud or by avoid loud noises at night time.

Do not exceed in drinking alcoholic beverages that may lead to bring disturbance to neighbours or damage to the apartment.

The Lazio region

Rome is a large town, with a caothic traffic, especially in the very centre. Many are the districts which are considered to be in town but are not as well connected to the hystorical sites as well as this area is.

Rome

If you want to be within easy reach of any hystorical site, without the chaos of the very central street traffic, you may choose to stay in this quiet, family living "quartiere", full of shops, supermarkets and restaurants, a 2 minutes walk from the underground line that brings you in 10 minutes to the heart of town. It is one of the best served parts of town: public transport takes you anywhere, stops are a few minutes from the apartment and you may choose whether to take the bus, the underground or the city train. In the North-Eastern part of town, near beautiful Sant'Agnese Church and Santa Costanza mausoleum, across viale Libia shopping Street you find a park if you have kids to bring to a playground.

Less than a minute from your door you find bakery, newspapers, chemist, bank and 24hrs cash withdrawals, supermarkets, gourmet shops selling local products, fruit and vegetable shops, bars, cofee shops, take-aways, pizzerie and restaurants.

It is a very nice place to come back to after a long day walk.
