The Lazio region
Lazio (pronounced [?lattsjo], Latin: Latium) is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy, situated in the central peninsular section of the country. With about 5.7 million residents and a GDP of more than 170 billion euros, Lazio is the third most populated region of Italy, and has the second largest economy of the nation. Its capital is Rome, capital and largest city of Italy
Apartment Sant'Andrea, is located next door to the beautiful St. Andrew's Church, Rome's 3rd largest Basilica, after the Vatican, St Peter's, 10 minutes walk away, and San Paolo, outside the city center.
Sited Midway between Piazza Farnese/Campodifiori and Piazza Navona, the flat is on the 3rd floor of an ancient, 17th century Palazzo, but it has been fitted with a small elevator, it has a lovely little terrace where Guests often dine and have breakfast when the weather is good.
Despite the area being the hub of Roman VIP day and nigh-tlife,,, the apartment is surprisingly silent.
On Sundays, however, the peeling of the bells of Sant'Andrea Church - ringing to call Catholics to Holy Mass - can be rather loud as the belfry is no more than 40 metres away !
