The Lazio region
Rome is in Lazio, wich is a region full of places to visit like many medieval boroughs such as Calcata, Tuscania, Sutri, Sermoneta, and Ariccia, Castel Gandolfo and much more. Maybe not many of you know it but not far from Rome there is one of the longest italian sandy cost, Ostia Lido plenty of restaurants and bars on the beach, Capocotta (natural reseve), wilder, offers sunny dunes by day and some nice restaurants opened also by night. If you are beaches and sea you can not miss Sabaudia, Circeo, Gaeta, Sperlonga, with their beautiful little villages and clear water!

The climate in Rome is quite mild. From March the good season starts. from June to August is very hot and humid, fortunately parks, pools, and the vaste roman shoreline are at your fingertips. The coldest season is From November to February, with many sunny and dry days. There are many placese to visit just outside Rome as Catselli romani, Calcata, Ostia Antica, and Capocotta, the natural reserve of roman shoreline from 1996.
Trastevere a medieval site, today a mixture of new and old. You can see the workshops of the oldest trasteverini and maybe try to speak their dialect or visit churches, stop and eat in one of the loats roman taverns, and go to Gianicolo (Unesco World Heritage Site), one of the 7 hills where Rome has built, and also the most beautiful view point in Rome, is within a walking distance as well as Vatican City and many other historical sites, like Porta Settimiana, Villa Farnesina, an enchanting symbol of the roman Rainassance, During summer the famous Estate Romana sets up Tevere river banks with cultural events, bars, restaurants, shops, and every day offers different attractions. In winter you can still see loats of people walking around, having aperitives outside bars, while in december it fills up with all kind of stalls.
