Ref. 16670 - This loft with country-style furnishing is particularly cosy, and is located in the privileged and famous district of Trastevere – close to the beautiful Santa Maria square en Trastevere lying opposite the Tiberina island.

This 30m2 attic-style loft has been designed to comfortably sleep up to three people and is located on the second floor (without a lift) of an elegant XIV century building. The entrance leads onto the main room in the house where there is a single sofa bed, LCD television, table and chairs. The original ceramic floors and fireplace (not in use) make it an ideal spot to unwind. There is also a well-equipped kitchen area. A wooden staircase leads up to the upper floor where there is a double bed, parquet floors, and exposed ceiling beams offering a cozy ambience. Finally the double level is also home to the bathroom with a shower cabin. As there are sloping ceilings in some parts of the apartment there are certain areas that are lower than others.

The strategic location of the apartment means visitors can walk quickly and easily to many points of tourist and historical interest in the city. The heart of Trastevere is a very lively area with a strong cultural identity, full of craft shops, café-book stores, restaurants and pizzerias where guests will enjoy tasting authentic Italian cuisine. On Sundays there is also the chance to visit the famous Porta Portese market – a great spot to go shopping.

Description: Trastevere is one of Rome's most characteristic areas. Extremely lively, full of charm and history, staying here is to enjoy the Eternal City at its very best. A stroll around the labyrinth of its narrow little streets, almost unchanged over the centuries, gives the visitor an idea of real life in Rome, and it is also where the best pizzerias, typical Roman taverns and a huge selection of bars, workshops, designer shops, bookshops and art galleries can be discovered alongside numerous churches and monuments. Plaza Trilussa is one of the most popular squares and the meeting place for many young people. The other square, Santa María in Trastevere, named after the famous church located there is an architectural gem dating back to the beginning of the medieval era, and is also the oldest Basilica in Rome. Also noteworthy are the Basílica de Santa Cecilia , S. Francesco a Ripa and Sant'Egidio. Another of the area's beautiful buildings is the Villa Farnesina, home of the Italian science academy Accademia dei Lincei. The district covers a wide area that encompasses Gianicolo, a great place to admire a fabulous view of the city. Here we can find Villa Sciarra and San Pietro en Montorio with the famous Tempietto del Bramante. The convent was given to Spain at the end of the XIX Century and is now the headquarters of the Real Academia Española. A very central area, it is recommended to move around on foot as it is very well-communicated with buses and trams that have numerous stops on the district's main central thoroughfare, the Viale Trastevere. A little further away towards the Circonvallazione Gianicolense, is the Estación Trastevere that is also the terminal for a number of different bus lines.
