Close to transport and shops this fully self contained apartment is in a quiet, country lane like street within walking distance to the Vatican and amenities.

The little train across the street goes to the Estruscan excavations in Cerveteri and Tarquinia for a pleasant days outing. Originally this line went directly into the Vatican in the days when the Popes used the train for travelling. Because of this, even though not now used, it is well patrolled by Police and makes the area very safe and quaint for Rome.

The Lazio region

This area was countryside until early 1900. It still holds a quaint atmosphere of and some buildings that date back to that time. It's only a 10 minute walk to St.Peter's piazza which was Nero's stadium and where St.Peter was crucified. Walking distance to shops, local fruit market, supermarkets, transport, Post Office and Banks.

The train within walking distance takes you to the archeological site of the Etruscan Tombs in Cerveteri Tarquinia in 30mins and the beaches there eg: Santa Marinella and others. Also Ostia and Ostia Antica.

A bus ride to the city on No.64 takes you to all the most popular and important tourist sites.

Rome area

The apartment is on 4th. floor with elevator and has a balcony.

From Civitavecchia the train is extremely convenient.

St.Peter's dome can be seen from the balcony.

St.Peter's Basilica (Vatican) is only a 10 min. walk but Bus 64 is almost at the door.
Supermarkets, local open vegetable markets and shops are withing walking distance.

How to get there

Airlines arrive at Ciampino airport or Fiumicino.

From Ciampino Airport you take the bus to the central station "Stazione Centrale" and then Bus 64, almost to the door.

From Fiumicino airport you take the fast train to central station "Stazione Centrale" and then Bus 64, almost to the door.

The apartment is at the end of the Bus line 64 so by this I mean to "the door". No way you can mistake the stop because everyone gets OFF. even the driver. I will be there to meet you so long as we are in contact by sms along the way to give me an idea of the time you expect to be there.

If you prefere to take a taxi from Central Station the cost would be about E15.00.
and E40 from Fiumicino.

If you are travelling by car there it is safe to park the car in the street but my advice is to leave it there, once you find the spot, and use public transport when in Rome. Parking is not easy around Rome and impossible in the centre without a special pass. On the other hand there is a pay car park not far away.
