The Lazio region
Rome is unique in the world for the beauty of its monuments and its masterpieces of art. Visiting Rome and become fascinated with its light, its colors, the views, the views: a set embellished with extraordinary luxuriance of its vegetation. It is impressive to see how the vestiges of ancient Rome, the evidence of the origins of Christianity, the highest expressions of the Renaissance and Baroque periods are mixed at each corner with the folksy vibrancy of the streets, where there are curious craft shops, neighborhood trattoria, shops of long standing, or with the refined elegance of the crowded streets of the center of the windows of luxury hotels and rooms of a high standard. capital of Italy, 2000 years ago, Rome was at the helm of a world empire and was considered the '"navel" of the entire Mediterranean region. Rome still sees many souls revive itself, the heirs of the old empire, which in their generality create the uniqueness of the " Eternal City ". Visitors to Rome can see how it coexist and overlap in the Rome of the Vatican, leader of Christianity and Rome, the capital of the ministries and politics, the Rome International embassies and foreigners, the Rome film and Rai, the aristocratic and the post-palazzinara. One such city is always open forcibly neurotic and multifaceted, elusive and engaging at the same time. Rome needs no introduction, is a city, but also a symbol and a dream. Rome you can not just describe, because it has everything, it was everything and is everything: the cradle of civilization and a universal language, the homeland of the right, the center of power, the center of Christianity, the center of the world. All roads lead to Rome, it is not an advertising slogan, it is not hyperbole. Rome is not only a historical city, Rome is the history, Rome is not only a powerful city, Rome is the power. Visiting Rome you hear it, walking the streets and squares , palaces and churches, discovering, visiting museums and libraries. Corrado Augias writes in his book The Secrets of Rome : You could say that the places and monuments we review are called to evoke the events that made ??them famous and the characters that have them animated. And 'as if the stones and the objects themselves speak, in a continuous unfolding of memories: the myth of the origins of the city, which transforms the stories of some ruffians settled in a village at the crossroads of major trade routes of the time, to the glory soaked blood of the Renaissance, the violent and dark atmosphere of the Middle Ages to the rationalist rigor expressed in the architecture of EUR, wanted by fascism for its twentieth anniversary, the ruthlessness of Caesar to the dark genius of Caravaggio, by the charm of Lucrezia Borgia, "the the most beautiful lady of Rome "... Rome has been hated and loved, feared and admired, but his universum - its real charm - was understood by few. Perhaps only by poets who have sung in the villages and in the taverns, among the ordinary people and forthright in the neighborhoods, or by the anonymous and irreverent Pasquino era skullcap. Here, for example, as the great dialect poet GG Belli describes the Mouth of Truth : In a church on top of 'na square A little 'more SSU de Piazza Montanara Pe pporta the road to the Salara, there in in 'entrà a blessed thing. Pe all of Rome How long wide and narrow Nun prune Find PPIU rare thing. 's a face of stone that tt'impara Who called the nu bucìa who has called. mo If I is a face , which has the mouth uperta, Je put my hand there, and the nu striggne, The truth from me tiella eg certain. ssi But sticks his hand one in bucìa, is sure to ttìrà nor spiggne That hand them nun Vié PPIU on. Historic Centre of Rome, the extraterritorial properties of the Holy See in the City and the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls have been declared - UNESCO - World Heritage Site because: "It represents a masterpiece of human creative genius. Show an important interchange of human values, at one time or within a cultural area of the world in the development of architecture and technology, monumental art, urban planning or landscape. E 'an outstanding example of a type of building or architectural or technological ensemble or landscape which is evidence of significant stages in human history. E 'directly or tangibly associated with events or living traditions, with ideas, with beliefs, with artistic and literary works of outstanding universal value " . You must visit Rome at least once in life.
The area where the apartment is located is in a central location from which you can easily reach the major points of interest of the city, bordering the Trastevere district and close to the market Portaportese (open on a Sunday morning). Monteverde is one of the residential areas and most appreciated in Rome. Its restaurants are great, the people friendly. There are convenient stores in which to shop and services essential to attend to the affairs of every day.The evening Monteverde becomes a very relaxed and pleasant: the bars welcome the residents, and it is not uncommon to see families sitting together.
Those who come to live here, hardly goes away.
On the territory there are several cultural institutions of international importance: first, the American Academy of Rome, located in the historic Villa Aurelia. The area is rich in history, first the Christian catacombs of San Pancrazio, which is located beneath the San Pancrazio, located just outside the door of the same name.To the north of the district there is a large green lung Villa Doria Pamphili, Rome's largest public park in Rome.Of great historical, artistic and environmental is also the Villa Sciarra and the walk the Gianicolo.

This apartment was exactly as we expected from the reviews here. Very clean and spacious. Well equipped. Cristina was so lovely. She was there when we arrived. She explained everything to us, then she brought us down the road to show us shops, resteraunts, bankomat, tram stop and train station. There was milk and minerals in the fridge for us, tea bags, coffee and pastries too. It was so nice having the use of a whole apartment instead of just a hotel room. We ate breakfast there everyday and lunch there some days. The shower was great. The beds were comfortable and it was all spotlessly clean. If we go back to Rome I would definitely stay here again.
You really are a wonderful family, 2 parents and 4 nice guys, like all the Irish. I hope to have you as guests in Rome. Ciao Cristina

"Perfect Base to See Rome"
We loved the Da.Do House apartment! It's nicely decorated (I'll add pics when I get back) and was spacious for the three adults in my group. Cristina and Francesco are darlings - they stocked the refrigerator with drinks, provided body wash, shampoo, etc., and took the time to walk us around to show us the nearest grocery store, pharmacy, tram stop, and where to buy tram tickets. There's also travel guides in the bookshelf for your reference and information for emergency calls, cabs, etc. posted by the front door. They totally took the time to think about their guests' needs. The surrounding area is pretty quiet at night and safe - we were usually returning at the wee hours of the morning and always felt safe. The apartment itself was very conveniently located near the E. Dunant and Giancolense Tram 8 stop. We caught the tram and rode it to the end (Pza Venezia) which was within a 10 minute walk of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Pantheon, the shopping area on Via Corso, etc. The tram also stopped in Trastevere, which has a lot of restaurants and nightlife. I would definitely book another stay at the Da.Do House!
Thanks for your nice review and Arrivederci to Rome. Staff Da.Do

We rented the Da.Do house for three nights in Rome. I had already a good vibe of the owners and place at the time of the booking because the excellent communication provided by Signora Cristina in supplying me with all the information about the available meaning of transports to reach the apartment. On the way to Rome (from the South of Italy) I received a phone call from Cristina's husband Francesco who was informing me of a demonstration in Rome that would have caused disruption in the public transport and therefore he was offering to collecting us to the Termini station (no extra cost involved). We met with francesco outside the station and he was really polite and friendly. he brought us in the area where the apartment was and he also stopped to show us a great view of Rome from the Gianicolo area...AMAZING. We arrived to the apartment and we entered a very typical Italian apartment block (not impressive but I am used to it being Italian). At the second floor there is the DA.Do house apartment.: it was exactly what you see in the picture; refurbished , clean with all the comfort you need. With are surprise Francesco after showing us around, brought us in the kitchen where opening the fridge he had bought some soft drinks (Coke, Fanta, fruit juice), water; there was an espresso coffee, tea, Biscuits, Milk, pasta, tuna. It was very nice considering that everything was for free and having kids was perfect and thoughtful. He also had bought some tickets fro the Tram (but you can use on the bus, train and metro (one ticket is valid for any transport for 100M at the cost of 1.50 Euro), I was really impressed. The apartment as I said has got every comfort, great showers , air conditioning tv, wash machine, dishwasher, hair drier WI-FI...everything you need. The location is great. you have 3 choices to move around: 1) a tram (line 8) 150 meters from the apartment and in 7-8 stops is in Piazza Venezia (banged in the city center) it operates every 7-8M...Great! 2) Also you have a BUS (Line H) that takes you from Termini to the apartment and goes to the city center. At 15 Min walking you also have a train that in one stop (3 minutes) takes you to St. Peter Square. The area is very safe and travelling with kids it is vital. You have a supermarket 100m from the apartment and it is open also on Sunday. The apartment can host very comfortably up to 6 people. The Sofa bed is very comfortable and so the bed in the master bedroom. Trastevere is reachable with the tram (6-7 stops in max 10M): it is really worth a visit for a nice dinner. I really recommend this apartment .We had great time and definitely whe I will go back to Rome I will rent it again.
