The Lazio region

Rome (Italian: Roma) is the capital city of Italy and of the Lazio region, as well as the country's largest and most populous commune, with more than 2.7 million residents.[2] The metropolitan area has a population of about 4 million.

Rome, Caput mundi ("capital of the world"), la Città Eterna ("the Eternal City"), Limen Apostolorum ("threshold of the Apostles"), la città dei sette colli ("the city of the seven hills") or simply l'Urbe ("the City"), is thoroughly modern and cosmopolitan.

As one of the few major European cities that escaped World War II relatively unscathed, central Rome remains essentially Renaissance and Baroque in character. The Historic Centre of Rome is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Visit The Vatican and Saint Peter's Basilica which are walking steps from the apartment. All the main sights are easily reachable.

The historical centre ville is dominated by the traditional "Seven hills of Rome": the Capitoline, Palatine, Viminal, Quirinal, Esquiline, Caelian, and Aventine hills. The Tiber flows south through Rome, with the city centre located where the midstream Tiber Island facilitated crossing. Large parts of the ancient city walls remain.

Vatican City:

The city of Rome surrounds the Vatican City, the enclave of the Holy See, which is a separate sovereign state. It hosts Saint Peter's Square with the Saint Peter's Basilica. In Vatican City there are also the prestigious Vatican Library, Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms and other important works of Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Giotto, and Botticelli.

Rome enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate which characterizes the Mediterranean coasts of Italy.

"The best value in Rome"

It was a pleasant surprise when I walked into the apartment. It was spacious, clean with marble floors and balconies. It allowed us, because of the full kitchen, to cook some meals each day and avoid the crowded Rome restaurants. It was close to Vatican city where we saw the Pope. There were restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The owner was available when needed and even arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport. A fine experience indeed.

"Blue Classic -- Your Home in Rome"

We spent 3 days in Cristina and Carla’s lovely Rome apartment, and what a pleasure it was. It was like really living in Rome, not in a tourist center but as part of a neighborhood. Located just a ten-minute walk from St. Peter’s, there is easy access to grocery shops, restaurants and a bank. We enjoyed the morning market just around the corner, where we bought fresh fruit and vegetables to prepare in the spotless and very well-equipped kitchen. The apartment is spacious, light and airy, and furnished with a mix of modern and lovely antique furniture. In the afternoons it was nice to have a cold drink on the balcony overlooking the street, listening to the happy sounds of the children playing in the little park across the street. The information provided by Cristina was exceptionally complete and useful. She was able to arrange a last-minute personal tour of Rome for us, but those arrangements should really be made farther in advance (we were lucky!) Blue Classic Home was a delight, even more than we expected.
