Elizabeth House - Rome rental

Very Good 4.5/5 Score from 11 reviews

House | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6

Key Info
  • Great for children of all ages
  • Car not necessary
  • No pets allowed

Large and bright apartment located in the Esquiline area, nearby St. Mary Major Basilica and Piazza Vittorio. This lively area is full of shops, bakeries and groceries and is perfectly served by several bus and 2 lines of metro (Vittorio Emanuele, line A; Cavour, line B).

On the first floor of an elegant 18th century building, the apartment is served by elevator (to reach it there are about 20 steps though!).

Recently restored, it is composed by 2 bright bedrooms overlooking the green and peaceful inner courtyard: in particular, a double bedroom with wardrobe and writing table; and a twin bedroom with 2 single beds (to be joint if you need a second double bedroom).

My favourite room is the large living, tastefully furnished with a 3 seater sofa bed (bed for 2 adults), TV set and a dining table for 6. A prefect place to spend some relaxing moments chilling out with your family and friends!

And if you'd like to experience home-made Italian cousine, a fully equipped kitchen with fridge and freezer, oven, dishwasher and much more is at your disposal!

The apartment has 2 bathrooms: a full bathroom with bath tub and double wash-basins (that I love, definitely useful, especially with children!), plus a small service bathroom with sink, wc and washing machine.

The apartment is perfect for children and we have equipped the house with a baby cot and toys; high chair available on request!

Beutifully furnished with famous Italian design elements, first among everything the beautiful lampada ad arco by Castiglioni, Elizabeth House is a great accommodation in Rome that will assure you an unforgettable stay in the Eternal City!

The Lazio region

With about 5.7 million residents, Lazio is the third most populated and the second richest region of Italy and it includes Rome, capital and largest city of Italy. The region is mainly flat and hilly, with small mountainous areas in the most eastern and southern districts. Spring and summer are great times to visit the city of Rome, as the weather is warm and generally quite sunny. In a good year the mild weather many continue right up to December, with only occasional cold winds, but in a bad year, heavy rain can start in October. July and August are usually very hot and temperatures tend to stay around 35°C for much of this time. The heat can be uncomfortable when sightseeing during this time, but the Rome traffic becomes noticeably reduced and footpaths less busy. The weather can prove unpredictable from November to February, when Rome is at its most quiet, although it is generally fairly mild, there can be heavy rain and occasional icy winds, so be sure to bring a warm overcoat, scarf and gloves.

Rome

Elizabeth House is nearby St. Mary Major Basilica, between the Esquiline and the Rione Monti. Esquiline is a multi-ethnic and commercial district, where you can find several restaurants (TRATTORIA MONTI, for instance, right in front of the apartment, a small genuine family run restaurant famouse for its delicious home made cousine! TripAdvisor: http://goo.gl/DnsOk), supermarkets, bakeries (PANELLA in via Merulana is very good and famous, but absolutely too expensive! ROSCIOLI in via Buonarroti has the best pizza ever), ice cream/gelato (in particular il PALAZZO del FREDDO, in via Principe Eugenio 65) groceries and so on; is also close to Termini Station (useful because of the 2 lines of metro and the several bus lines) and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, where you can find every day the large, colourful and famous ESQUILINE MARKET (some pictures from the market: http://blog.paperogiallo.net/2011/09/roma_multietnica_il_mercato_di_piazza_vittorio.html) Rione Monti (10 mins walk from the apartment!) is one of the most ancient district of the city, located between via Cavour, via Nazionale and the Colosseum. It's the neighbourhood for the cool, the young, the vintage, the eclectic; those who want a serving of cobblestone, antique and artisans, with a side order of beautiful brooding artist. Monti is full of lovely hosteria, wine bar, shops and so on!

Dear Mr. Goode,
thank you so much for choosing Elizabeth House for your stay in Rome; we always welcome any kind of feedback from our guests.
Your point about storage space in the small room is absolutely fair. In fact, we are in the process of acquiring one cupboard for the room.

I'm truly sorry for the noise issue, we looked into it and we can only conclude it was an isolated episode. We can also confirm there are no laundries in the building, and in general we never had similar complaints.
Thanks again, Chiara
