BookThe Lazio region
Lazio is the main italian region, is where Rome, the capital is situated.
TO BE SEEN:
The Palatine, Roman Forum, Domus Aurea, Arch of Constatine, House of Augustus, House of Livia
120At the end of the Republican Age, when Rome had become the capital of a vast empire stretching from Gaul to Asia Minor, the old Roman Forum proved to be too cramped to efficiently serve as the city’s administrative and monumental centre, to be the very hub of public life.
The Rome / Piazza Venezia / Colosseo area
Here is where these apartments are located. 196It may be two thousand years old but the Colosseum is still the symbol of the eternal city, every year drawing thousands of visitors, meaning long queues and an endless wait.
In order to avoid the problem, a ticket may be purchased in advance through the tourist contact centre, by phoning 060608 or visiting the website www.pierreci.it.
…Or alternatively by buying one of two tourist cards: the “Roma Pass” which is valid for three days and entitles holders to free admission and no-queue entrance for the first two museums and to free travel throughout Rome, or the “Archeologia Card” which is valid for 7 days and allows free entry into each of the following sites: Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps, Crypta Balbi, Terme di Diocleziano (Baths of Diocletian), the Colosseum, the Palatine, Terme di Caracalla (Caracalla Baths), Villa dei Quintili, Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella.
In 54 B.C., Julius Caesar was the first to come up with another square, originally intended as merely a straightforward extension of the Republican Forum. Caesar’s Forum was followed by Augustus’, then the Transitional (built by the Emperor Domitian and inaugurated by the Emperor Nerva) and, finally, Trajan’s Forum, which is undoubtedly the grandest. Together, the archaeological sites make up, from an urban standpoint, an organic complex renamed in the modern era the “Imperial Forums”, reaching from Capitol Hill (Campidoglio) to the foot of the Quirinale Hill.
Between 1924 and 1932, the Imperial Forums resurfaced following the demolition of which had been over the centuries built on top so as to clear the way for today’s Via dei Fori Imperiali.

This was very first tie for me and my friends to visit Rome. There was 6 of us and 1 baby. The Salvatore (owner) was keeping an fantastic communication, his assistant was helpful and friendly as well. Booking process very easy and reliable. Location of the apartment fantastic (only 5minutes from the Coliseum)! Very close to subway, tram /bus stop just oposite the apartment Small shops near by Spa saloon near by The apartment itself was very clean. What I liked about it the most is there was enough seating place for everyone. All equipment in the kitchen fully workig order, only the cooker s electric and it take some time but this is really minor thing. We have only eaten breakfast in the apartment. Bedrooms size very good, bedding clean Air conditioning fully working order altough we avent used it as apartment was cool itself 2 Bathroom, one of them prepared for disable people didnt really matter as the size was quite big at the end Salvatore even helped us to order a taxi to the airport! Amazing!! I can recommend this apartment as with the excellent location for everyone who has got desire to explore the Rome!! Very happy! Thank you Salvatore!!! xxx |
