The Lazio region

Lazio is a bit Rome Centric; despite this you will have the opportunity to visit lakes (I suggest Martignano lake in the north of Rome, very nice), the sea (Sperlonga , in south cost), or mountains (Appennini , towords est near Rieti). Viterbo Area, Maremma Laziale is right for a rural Holiday

Rome

Behind Porta Maggiore, there's "il Pigneto". Historic district, bilt at the end of ‘800, is currently enjoing a second youth ed is a popular meeting place for many people who wish to spend pleasant evenings in the streets of the neighborhood.

A bridge bitween center and perifery, a place where old and new meet togheter and where traditions and trends cohabit.

After seeing all the classic must-within the walls of Rome, the Pigneto is definitely worth a visit.

In the morning the traditional market welcomes you with its typical colors, scents and sounds, the afternoon you can stroll along the streets of the neighborhood and the area of the cottages, enjoying architecture spontaneously recovered. Encounter along the way exhibitions of young artists, film festivals, theater, dance schools ... ..

At night, the pedestrian area fills up for a drink or dinner, you can then choose to termianare the evening in one of the many clubs in the area, including the Artists' Club, where you can attend concerts by emerging bands.

"Lovely place"

Wonderfully located in one of the most cheerful neighbourhoods in Rome. Elisola is cordially managed and offers a cosy flat with all the facilities you might need. Definitely, a great place to stay

"Lovely apartment in great spot!"

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the apartment from the 4th to the 11th of June 2014. Mario kept in contact before our stay, giving us advice on what to book in advance and buses to use to get to the apartment itself.
When we arrived, his business partner, Sergio, met us at the bus stop and walked us to the apartment, advising us on restaurants to eat at and supermarkets to shop in on the way. He then gave us a map and advised us on buses to get.
The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious and also very safe! The kitchen and bathroom looked relatively new and the bedroom had a large cupboard.
In the mornings, there is a market on the street which sell fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses, fish and sometimes clothes, jewellery and other accessories.
At night, all of the bars and restaurants open their doors and have tables and seats outside and it has a great atmosphere with all locals and students. I think we were one of the very few tourists in the area! The only downside is that there were a few 'pushers' in the area but we were only asked twice and only had to say no thanks to be left alone.
The bus stop is a short walk away and has direct buses to the termini, the Colosseum and St. Peter's. The bus to the termini is around 15 minutes and from there, you can get buses, trains and the metro to anywhere you fancy. This is also the stop for a few of the bus tours. I recommend that, if you are staying for a week, you get the CIS ticket, which gets you on all of the buses, metro and trams. This is incredibly handy and you can purchase this downstairs in the termini and costs 24 euros. There are other types of tickets available for shorter stays etc. Remember to validate your ticket on the first bus that you take by putting your ticket into the yellow machine! If you don't do this, you could be fined if an inspector catches you. However, we didn't see one conductor the whole time but better to be safe than sorry!

Mario kept in contact with us throughout our stay to let us know of any strikes etc. that may have effected us, which was very helpful.

Overall, the apartment is clean and exactly as advertised. It is in a good area for bars, restaurants, supermarkets and transport and has wifi to help you plan your visits. If you want a holiday to see the real Rome and its people, without all the tourists, then this is the place for you!
I would recommend for couples (young and old) and older families. There isn't much for younger children in the area that I know of but Rome itself isn't really for that purpose either (unless you count the water park/zoo I saw advertised!)

"Excellent reception"

We spent a week-end in this apartment. We are delighted, the apartment is newly renovated, very clean and very nice. The reception is excellent. Mario is a charming person, he told us all the means of transport supplies, nearby supermarkets and left us a very detailed map that allowed us to get around Rome with ease. Even if the apartment is not in the historical place, it is very near in a good and very well communicated area. Without a doubt, I'll be back to the same apartment next time.

"Mario and his very practical partment"

Just on arriving, Mario gave us a very useful brief about the transport opportunities for visiting the most important places with a very detailed map. This helped us a lot as we were in hurry to reach Vatican museum where we had a prebooking.

We enjoyed Rome very much staying in this apartment which is just fantastic and very practically planned. Termini station is very well connected by bus no 105 and you can also use bus 81 that goes through almost all the main tourist spots of Rome.

In total, the place is a great value for money.
