About the home

Holiday Home Elisola is a full confort apartment, just restructured , ten minutes far from Termini Station and the center of the city.

The structure is made by two identical appartments, connected by a door. Each apartment has an indipendent entrance and is made by a dining room with a kitchen and a sofa bed, a double bedroom and a large bathroom. A small shared by the two apartments courtyard will offer you the opportunity to relax; you can rent all the structure or a single apartment.

Holiday Home Elisola is very close the pedestrian area of Pigneto, ten minutes far by tram from Termini Station.
Once I heard two american turists saying "Pigneto is like the center of New Orelans .... very popular". So if you desire to descover the true essence of being roman today, you should visit Pigneto.

You will have at disposal a full optional small apartment, perfect for a ROMANtic holiday.
But If you desire an holiday with your group of friends you can rent both two apartments (connected by a door) .

Lazio is a bit Rome Centric; despite this you will have the opportunity to visit lakes (I suggest Martignano lake in the north of Rome, very nice), the sea (Sperlonga , in south cost), or mountains (Appennini , towords est near Rieti). Viterbo Area, Maremma Laziale is right for a rural Holiday

The Rome / Pigneto area

Behind Porta Maggiore, there's "il Pigneto". Historic district, bilt at the end of ‘800, is currently enjoing a second youth ed is a popular meeting place for many people who wish to spend pleasant evenings in the streets of the neighborhood.

A bridge bitween center and perifery, a place where old and new meet togheter and where traditions and trends cohabit.

After seeing all the classic must-within the walls of Rome, the Pigneto is definitely worth a visit.
In the morning the traditional market welcomes you with its typical colors, scents and sounds, the afternoon you can stroll along the streets of the neighborhood and the area of the cottages, enjoying architecture spontaneously recovered. Encounter along the way exhibitions of young artists, film festivals, theater, dance schools ... ..
At night, the pedestrian area fills up for a drink or dinner, you can then choose to termianare the evening in one of the many clubs in the area, including the Artists' Club, where you can attend concerts by emerging bands.

* (By Train): once you arrive to Stazione Termini, you can take Tram number 5 o 14 (1€), get off at P.le Prenestino. Otherwise you can take bus 105 (1€) from piazza dei 500, for 8 stops and get off at Casilina/Sant'Elena stop. In both cases turist home Elisola is located a few hundred meters, in via Fivizzano 30/32 .

* (From Fiumicino Airport): Take the train "Leonardo Express" towards Roma Termini (14€) and continue as described under"By Train". You can also take the train line RF1 untill Stazione Tuscolana (8€) , where you can take bus 412 and get off after 5 stops in Circonvallazione Casilina, Elisola is far 50 meters.

* (From Ciampino Airport): Take "Terravision" bus towards Roma Termini and continue as described under"By Train".

“In a typical roman and cool area” The appartment is very good for four persons. You have all you need and expect in a rental appartment. It was clean and practical. With a few bus stops, you are in the center of Rome. The area is "alive" at night with no tourists but Romans. During the day, there is a market.. A good report quality/price to visit a capital.

“Very nice apartment close to Termini Station” The apartment was as we expected to be, except the WiFi which was not available during our stay. In the pedestrian area near the apartment you could find a market in the morning and many open restaurants in the evening. Bus stations are close to the house and Termini Station is just 10-15 min away depending on the traffic.

“Splendid great value apartment close to city centre” We found this apartment ideal for two (couple 60+). It is situated in a very quiet street in a vibrant though admittedly somewhat scruffy surrounding area, very close to tram/bus links to nearby Termini station (though you can easily walk to the Colosseum in city centre within 40 minutes). Basic, compact amenities but everything you need for a great value self-catering stay, and on arrival owner Mario provides welcome detailed assistance on local amenities and directions. Pigneto is a very interesting residential area, multi-cultural with lots of street cafes, restaurants and bars and with a pedestrian area providing daily food & retail market stalls. We came away happy.

“Wonderful time” We have spent wonderful 7 days in Rome – in Holiday Home Elisola. Everything was arranged in perfect way starting from the booking to the end of our vacation. The apartment is very nice. In the kitchen I felt evidently that woman cared for it as there was everything what we needed, and even for cooking. The bedroom is perfect; the double bed was very comfortable to have rest after long Roman days, wardrobe was large enough to put all our clothes. The bath room was huge what is unusual for many hotels and apartments not only in Rome, but in many other European cities. It was very clean and fresh. The apartment does not locate in the historical part of Rome. But staying in this area makes you feel the real Roman atmosphere with local Italian people. It is surrounded by few grocery stores, a small open air market where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood and meat, bars with good beer and cafés where you can find nice coffee with fresh baked pastries. And I would like to appreciate Mario and his family – the owner of the apartment. Dealing with them you can feel and find out the real Italian hospitality and cordiality.

“Fantastic holiday rental!!” This was the first hoilday rental we have ever done and it was brilliant. Mario was great and extremely attentive. He was quick with replying to emails, told us how to get there and met us at the bus stop. He also gave us maps and explained what buses to get and where the supermarkets were. The great thing about this place is that is was affordable and not ridiculously expensive like some of the other rentals. There was a frequently running bus that you could get to train station and get to anywhere to needed. It is a beautiful apartment which started to feel like home to us. Thank you Mario!

“You won't be disaapointed - the apartment is as described, clean, tidy and well maintained.” The apartment is located about 12 minutes bus ride from Rome Termini station. This is not a problem as the buses are very reliable and prompt running every 15 minutes. The apartment is close to local facilities such as restaurants for dinning out. If you want to be self-catering the apartment is equiped with cooking utensils, fridge and a gas hob with local supermarkets within 3 minutes walking distance. Although the apartment can sleep 4 people this would be a little difficult due to the layout of the apartment - bathroom accesed via bedroom so more suitable to 2 persons only or with two children; however I doubt you would want to spend too much time in the apartment with 4 people - I was a solo traveller so it suited me perfectly.

“A great escape to one of the hippest neighborhoods in Rome” We really enjoyed our one week stay in il Pigneto. It is a little way from the center but there are several busses and trams that will take you whereever you need to go. The host Mario was super friendly and easy to connect with. Our first day he explained us about the public transport and told us what places are worth checking out in the neighborhood. He said to call him whenever we may need anything. The best thing about this rental was a really comfortable bathroom with a nice bathtub and the neighborhood itself. There is a street market outside Monday through Friday and you can get all your shopping down with the freshest produce. Also, at night, the whole street of Pigneto opens its bars and restaurants and you can walk around from one place to another, having great beer, wine, cheese, etc. During the day, don't forget to check a local institution - Necci bar. It has a great location, beautiful garden, coffee and pastries to die for. I could sit there for hours checking out the locals. Also, very few tourists stay in il Pigento for now, so you will definitely end up feeling special and adventurous. :)

“Ideal apartment for couple trying to save money on Rome accommodation” Apartment Elisola is good value accommodation close to the centre of Rome. Accommodation includes a very comfortable bed and, in keeping with Italian custom, a large bathroom. Mario couldn't be any more helpful, answering any queries quickly and even went out of his way to provide us with baby travel cot at no extra cost. Another plus is that there are no add-on costs - the price is what you pay. We had our toddler with us with made it a bit of a squeeze because there's not much room in the apartment to run around and the outdoor area is very small, but for a couple trying to save money on accommodation in Rome, this apartment is ideal. The apartment is in Pigneto, and is surprisingly quiet considering it's a lively area at night - the pedestrian street at the end of the road, which is full of brilliant market stalls by day, is by night full of bars and bistros. The restaurant at the end of the road looked fantastic, and if we hadn't had a toddler we'd love to have gone. Pigneto is only about 15 - 20 mins from the centre of Rome and there are good bus and tram links to Roma Termini and Colosseum. Be warned though, rush hours can be a terrible crush on the bus/tram (difficult with luggage and/or buggy!).

“Practical and modern possibility to explore the "Camden town" in Rome” Holiday Home Elisola is ideal for a romantic getaway for two, but also comfortable enough for a group of friends. It is very convenient that the area has good connection with Termini Train Station. The apartment is very nice and modern. You have all you could possibly need in the apartment. The location is not maybe best for the traditional tourist of Rome, but for people who care to see more of the everyday life it is the perfect place. There are many pubs, bars, restaurants and also a nice market and grocery store really near by. The only thing i would recommend checking before booking is the internet (there have been problems with it). But even if it is not available the apartment owner is kind enough to give you recommendations where to get free access to the internet. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

“a Warm Welcome to Rome” The new apartments are convenient, with good equipment to cook and have a relaxing stay in Rome. There is a good connection with the city center through direct buses 81 and 810, or via bus 105 which drives very frequently to Termini where you can take metro all around town. We took a 7 days pass at about 16 euro and could travel by tram metro bus with it. Mario offered us a very warm welcome to Rome in the apartment, with even some food, spices, tea, coffee we could use in the apartment, and we could call him at any time if needed. It is lively neighbourhood with locals, one street away there is a fresh produce local market with vegetables and in the evenings there are bars in the same street. Thanks for the nice stay despite the unexpected cold and snowy weather!!

“Great stay in wonderful area Pigneto!” We had an excellent stay in Holiday Home Elisola, with the most incredible and helpful host. The apartment was perfect, in good shape and with a nice little yard for dining out. The neighbourhood has an exceptionel pulse and amazing atmosphere. We strongly recommend this lovely place - both the apartment, the host and Pigneto!

“Appartamentino al Pigneto” Un piccolo ed accogliente appartamentino al Pigneto uno dei quartieri popolari e ferventi di Roma. L'appartamento situato in una stradina a due passi dall'area pedonale del Pigneto a pochi passi dalla fermata dell'autobus e del tram. Nelle vicinanze sono presenti numerosi ristorantini, pizzerie o altri locali dove è possibile prendere un aperitivo o cenare. Sebbene a livello strada è silenzioso e accogliente ed è composto da un ampio ingresso/cucina e una stanza da letto da cui si può accedere a un piccolo cortile interno. Il bagno è ampio e dotato di doccia. La cucina è dotata di tutto il necessario per preparare un pasto. L'appartamento è riscaldato e provvisto di aria condizionata.
