We highly recommend this bright, very clean, and extremely well-equipped apartment, in a quiet and safe residential neighbourhood close to one of the many bridges over the Tiber. In addition, the owne… More

"A Welcoming Home in Rome!"
My husband and I recently visited Italy (Rome, Florence & Venice) for two weeks and stayed for one week in Aliceintrastevere for six nights. This property was definitely the most pleasant of our lodging experiences. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owners, Andrea and Alice, a young couple who greeted us with genuine warmth as well as concern for our travel needs. They told us about the neighborhood, restaurants and grocery stores nearby, and explained all the in's and out's of the apartment.
One of the wonderful features of this apartment is that it's in a neighborhood almost free of tourists. The apartment building houses genuine Roman families, elderly tenants who have lived there for many years, and young, single people. It was a joy to be in a lovely, quiet neighborhood free from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Yet, we easily walked to just about all the major sights: the Pantheon, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Coliseum, the Forum, Trevi Fountain, many museums and the Vatican. The only time we used a cab was to go to the Borghese Gallery although we walked home after the tour.
The apartment reflects Alice's artistic bent. The way it's decorated is lovely, yet it's not too fussy. We really felt at home there. Andrea and Alice are warm and friendly. They were extremely helpful, letting us know about a coming storm and reminding us of the umbrellas at the apartment. We had forgotten that there was a refundable damage deposit, but Andrea tracked us down in Florence and arranged a bank transfer into the account of the owners of the apartment we were staying in there so they could give us our refund in cash. It was truly wonderful to know we were dealing with a man of such integrity, someone who went out of his way to make sure we got the refund even though we told him it could wait until we got back home.
We feel very fortunate to have met two such lovely people who are working hard to make travelers feel welcome and part of their family.

"Wonderful, I can't praise this apartment enough."
Very comfortable and well appointed, in a quit block tucked away from the hustle and bustle. It is like coming home after a long day.
Centrally located and close to the Tiber meant that we spent a whole week exploring the city entirely on foot. Walk along the river bank and you can cover long distances quickly to get where you want.
And with an attentive host like Andrea it is like having your own personal tour guide. Nothing was too much trouble.
I have no problem recommending Alice in Trastevere, the ideal base for exploring Rome. Enjoy.

"A Charming stay with the feel of real Rome"
This wonderful apartment is perfectly situated for exploring all that Rome has to offer. It is situated within easy walking distance of the hustle and bustle of Trastevere with its restaurants, cafes and boutique shopping yet it is in a quite and charming residential community. The major sites of Rome are all within walking distance just across the river. Our hosts showed a genuine interest in our comfort and in our enjoyment of our stay as well as recommending restaurants and providing all the advice we needed for sightseeing. We felt assured that advice was available at any time should we have needed it. We felt at home in Andre and Alice's apartment and the Trastevere area was friendly and wonderful to explore. We would thoroughly recommend Rome, Trastevere and Aliceintrastevere! A week just isn't long enough!

"Great location and hosts"
Great location. It's just a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants in the happening Trastevere area of Rome but far enough to avoid the sound of partying as you sleep. The flat itself is set within a traditional complex of residential villas/apartments so it's nice and quiet plus you get to feel like a local during your stay. The apartment was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I and was very clean. There's air conditioning which would be a godsend in the hot summer months but we didn't need it in October. It was nice to have use of a safe although we didn't really feel we needed it. The kitchen seems well equipped with everything you'd need to prepare a meal but we only had breakfast in the apartment.
Andrea was an excellent host. Communication was easy and prompt. He even managed to organise tickets for the Vatican museum (which is within walking distance). He's a star!

"A quiet, cosy home in the centre of noisy, crowded exciting Rome"
The communication with the owner was pleasant right from the start. Helpful advice to take a taxi from airport. We were welcomed by the owner Andrea and his wife Alice. The flat is in small dead-end lane in Trastevere, situated in a quiet courtyard .Fully equipped, very clean and homely. A few minutes walk from buses.
It was so nice to come back to and relax in the evening rather than staying in a hotel. We can only recommend Aliceintrastevere for a Roman Holiday.

"Just like an Italian"
We were very happy with the apartment. There was lots of room and everything was newly remodeled. The location was excellent - very close to the Vatican and the restaurants in Trastaverde. It was great that is was right next to the river so we could always find our way home without getting lost. We were able to walk to every sight in 30 minutes or less and walking around the beautiful city was the best part of the trip for us.
We were there in the heat of July - the air conditioning keeps the bedroom very cool but it's not quite enough to cool the whole apartment. Also, it's nice to live like an Italian - my wife enjoyed the neighbors yelling at each other in italian a little more than I did. it seems the walls are a little thin but it was not a problem - we always slept great.
The landlord was easy to deal with and payment via paypal was not a problem.
