The region derives its name from the Latin people, of which there are clear historical evidence since the ninth century BC However, as Lazio went into disuse and then disappeared with the fall of the Roman Empire, was officially introduced only in 1870 .
The Rome / Campo de' Fiori area
The square since 1869 hosts a lively and colorful food market, whose atmosphere is well disclosed by the popular film "Campo de 'Fiori" in 1943, with Anna Magnani and Aldo Fabrizi. He previously hosted performances, horse races and executions. At its center is the large bronze statue, inaugurated in 1887 by Ettore Ferrari, philosopher and Dominican friar Giordano Bruno, who was sentenced to death for heresy and burned alive February 17, 1600, just where is his monument. Campo de 'Fiori is the only major Roman square without churches. The evening is a popular meeting place, with many clubs, bars and restaurants which enliven the Roman making a popular meeting place of the city. Via dei Baullari, Via del Pellegrino, Via di Monserrato, and many other surrounding streets are full of shops, from the classics to the trendiest of craft shops, antique dealers and so on. Walking through these streets and admiring the facades of the buildings is a wonderful breath air renaissance in three minutes, crossing the Corso Vittorio Emanuele you will arrive in the beautiful Piazza Navona.

For our family of 4 (2 adults, and children aged 5 years and 20 months respectively) the apartment was fantastic - spacious, comfortable, clean, with all the facilities, utensils, etc. we needed, the owners were more than helpful, including booking a taxi for us to the airport, the location was excellent, and Rome itself turned on some amazing weather. Can't wait to come back and stay here again.

This apartment was extremely pleasant, attractive, well-equipped, comfortable, quiet, and convenient. It was just right for 4 people with good privacy provided by separate bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and showers that work well. The kitchen was more than adequate as were the other living areas. The beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well and quietly at night. The location could not have been better, 200 feet from the Campo Dei Fiori but on a quiet street. Access to the building and apartment were by code, not key, which was most convenient and allowed our daughters to come and go as they wished. The central location meant we could, and did, walk everywhere easily in Rome. It is a very safe part of Rome with all manner of shops and restaurants nearby. A taxi stand is 3 blocks away and there always seem to be taxis there. The owners are delightful people and most helpful in our settling into the apartment. We had absolutely no problems with anything. We will be delighted to rent this apartment again when we return to Rome.

“Perfect apartment in perfect location”
Just returned home from a wonderful stay at Residenza Campo de Fiori. The very friendly, accommodating owner was there to greet us and gave us a tour of the apartment. Everything that you need is provided including wi-fi, phone for local calls, electrical adapters, Frommers book, plenty of towels, shampoo, soap and even fresh herbs on the terrace. The apartment was spacious, very clean and secure. The front door opens into the first bedroom with a stained glass door going through to the second bedroom. This bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stained glass door. The bathroom floor can get wet from the shower. Off to the left of the first bedroom is the living room area and kitchen (the kitchen has everything you'll need and more). There's no door separating the bedroom from the living area but the wall made it private enough. I was traveling with my daughter, son and daughter-in-law and it worked out fine for us. There's a spiral staircase going up to an open air terrace which I wish we had more time to enjoy. I would highly recommend this apartment.
The location is perfect. One block from Campo de Fiori plaza with the market and many restaurants. A few blocks away is Piazza Navona which is fun with many more restaurants. We enjoyed Navona Notte which was reasonable. When you look at the menus outside the restaurants, check out the price of wine and soda. One restaurant charged us 10 EU for a glass of chianti and 7 EU for a can of coke! I expect these restaurants to be expensive but the coke made me shake my head. Rome sites are all walkable.

“Great location, very clean and comfortable”
The owner was very friendly, responsive and accomodating. He arranged for our airport transportation and met us at the apartment four hours before check-in to let us leave our luggage. The apartment was well-equipped with modern fixtures and appliances. The furniture was very nice - no IKEA. The roof terrace tucked in between the buildings was great for breakfast and late at night. Only complaint was the second bathroom shower was a bit too small to be functional and the door did not work. The main bathroom was excellent. Overall it was a great place in a great location.

“A comfortable home in a great location”
We were very pleased with this lovely home but feel that the back-to-back bedrooms with a stained glass door between them may not be suitable for everyone. We were very comfortable and happy with the recommendations of our hosts. The Campo de' Fiori market was fantastic and made cooking at home in the compact but fully outfitted kitchen quite easy. Although it was too warm to enjoy the small updeck, it was a pleasure to clip the fresh herbs every day for our cooking and our tea. I do wish there was a better shower curtain in the second bath and some kind of sheving in the first shower. A binder was provided with full directions on how to use everything in the apartment which was much appreciated.

“Centrally located apartment in Florence”
This apartment is really beautiful and has a lot of space. It is modern and comfortable, great amenities and fantastic check in. Very close to bus lines and public transportation. The only problem is that the master bedroom faces a very busy and noisy street and there is no air conditioning so in the hotter months, it was difficult to sleep, especially on weekend night because the windows needed to be left open for circulation. Also, internet was not working. Guests were not allowed to wash out the towels (by written contract), just to let you know. And towels were limited for several days stay, be prepared to use them over and over!

“Perfect location next to Campo de Fiori put us in the middle of everything and allowed us to walk everywhere!”
Six adults lived comfortably in this adorable apartment. Everything was just recently remodeled. Free WIFI made internet access simple. Owner arranged for comparatively cheap rides to/from the airport. There is a small private balcony accessible via a spiral staircase that gave us a spot to hang out with some wine and cheese and re-live the days touring. Campo di Fiori is one of the best Piazza's in Rome. It has fresh markets during the day, live music at night and some very good outdoor cafe's surrounding it. This apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Rome. You can walk to the Vatican, the Coliseum and Forum, Trevi Fountain and everywhere else you may want to go. Highly recommended.

“Great apartment, best location in Rome”
The "Residenza Campo de Fiori" is a great apartment, just steps away from Piazza Campo de Fiori and "Centro Storico".
We found the apartment in great conditions, very clean, with all amenities and Massimiliano, was there waiting for us to check-in at the time we agreed, with no problems.
The beds are confortable, good room sizes, the kitchen is very practical and complete, there is a small and a big bathroom, both in great conditions, recently renovated.
There is also a nice roof top garden, with flowers, herbs, a table, good for a glass of wine in the afternoon. In the garden, there is also a grill, which we did not use, but it is brand new.
I would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Rome, it is a great option.

“PerfectLy located Apartment in a small roman alley directly at Campo Dei Fiori”
We had such a nice stay. The apartment is suitable for 6 persons with parents and kids with two well furnished bathrooms. It is centrally located directly at one of the most beautiful squares of Rome. The small alley Via dei Cappellari is very quiet and leads to one of the best pastry shops and Pizzas for to go " forno" in town at Campo Dei Fiori. The owner was very pleasent and explained everything for us. It was all arranged very carefully especially the fresh flowers on the table. Thank you again and will definitely come back.
