Around the house there are roads that are a true concentrate of the history and evolution of Rome from the Roman Empire to the present day , with extraordinary historical artifacts and unique monuments . In addition, the house , which is about two kilometers from the city center, it is well connected to adjacent neighborhoods as well as the Via Cristoforo Colombo and as well as some of the best pieces of the Roman countryside, such as the one that runs along the guidelines of the street Ardeatina the Via Appia Antica, countryside rich in history that reflects the influence of the beneficial sea not far away .

Next to the house and along the directive of the Queen of the Streets , the Appia Antica, there is the Park Ardeatino Scott, who represents the southern part of the Appia Antica Park , a large green strip that extends to cover a huge area that reaches south up to the via Appia Nuova and via Ardeatina the southeast and the via Cristoforo Colombo, both directed towards the sea. On the Via Appia Antica, the three kilometers between the Park Headquarters ( Port St. Sebastian is just before ) and the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella meet the Catacombs of Callixtus , the basilica and catacombs of San Sebastiano , those Balbina and Domitilla , the Mausoleum of Romulus with the ruins of the Villa of Maxentius and the Circus of the Imperial Villa .
Very close to the house there are the tomb of Priscilla , the Domine Quo Vadis (or St. Maria of Plants ) , the ancient Roman Cistern of the Via Colombo , the Necropolis in via Semeria , the Columbarium of the Freedmen of Augustus and the circular basilica Ardeatina .
The Queen is via Appia Antica , walking , from a certain point onwards, only on foot. The road that once connected Rome to Naples , in addition to presenting his side of the nature of the Roman countryside almost intact , is a monument in the open. There are countless places of historical , artistic and cultural , starting with the distinctive paving slab which is still covered . All around funerary monuments , tombs, ancient churches , villas and ruins of aqueducts, a unique atmosphere and extraordinary .
Along the way Ardeatina outside the ring road , there is the Sanctuary of Divine Love , a place several times a year for pilgrims on foot very night - the way Ardeatina , which connects Rome to Ardea marine village , is surrounded by a beautiful countryside and small villages which lie in the middle of vast green areas . And speaking of these there are , around the house, the estate of Tormarancia , natural oasis a stone's throw from the city and , entering the heart of the Appia Antica Park Valle della Caffarella , one of the best preserved Roman countryside, between ruins and old farmhouses . In the first part of the urban street there are countless historical implications that you will meet .
Starting from the Park Headquarters you leave the Via Appia Antica shortly after the Church of Domine Quo Vadis and forth through the Caffarella you are immersed in the green of the Caffarella , on foot or by bicycle to discover the Valle della Caffarella , a corner of the Roman countryside through Almone from the river , where the water has always been the protagonist. It starts from the Source Egeria ( Egeria passage protected from the source to the Caffarella is open on Sundays and public holidays) and passing through the ruins of the Sacred Grove and the Nymphaeum reach the springs , and the Lake of the Marrane Pioppeto .
Also moving in the opposite direction from the house here is the Via Cristoforo Colombo, 27 kilometers long , built by Mussolini in the 30s to join the city center to the EUR district , designed for the Exposition Universelle which was to be held in 1942 and still half for who wants to see a different Rome , especially from the architectural point of view and gradually down to the sea at Ostia . A few hundred meters from the house and from the streets and Ardeatina Appia Antica, walking or using the many buses that run on Columbus , past the Aurelian Walls and the Door Ardeatina here are early in the historic center of Rome , through the Circus Maximus, the Baths Caracalla and the Park of San Sebastian and the Colosseum in the background .
