The Lazio region

Although the region of Rome; Lazio is less famous than Tuscany and other Italian regions, it certainly does not have less to offer!

Actually Lazio has just about everything you could whish during your holiday! The Mediterranian beaches are large and beautiful, there are even mountains of more than 2000 metres above sea level. In the region of Lazio you can explore hundreds of charming medieval villages and of course Rome which has an endless number of incredible sights worth visiting.

Rome

First of all Casale della Fontanella is located in the most beautiful Roman countryside and perfect for relaxing in peaceful and green setttings.

In the area you will have the possibility to visit hundreds of very interesting historical sights and enjoy the holiday atmosphere of the lakes

where you can go swimming, sailing or sunbathing on one of the charming beaches.

We will give you directions for how to move around, finding your way to the best restaurants, the train station, to the lakes and to all the exiting places that will surprice you in this area.

After seeing the most famous sights in Rome we suggest you take trips to some of the incredible historical sights outside Rome like " Villa Adriana" or " Ostia Antica" and many other smaller, hidden and less famous places with ruins left by the Etruscans, the Romans or from the middle ages. Places that are extremely fascinating.

"Idyllic location perfect place to relax and enjoy Lazzio"

A beautiful villa. Great space and bedrooms. Views amazing. And all in easy reach of the lakes and train to Rome.

"Great Villa and not enough time to explore Rome to its fullest."

Eva made things easy to book and arrange in the first place. Once at the spacious and open Villa we found it to be a brilliant base to explore Rome and surrounding area. All the immediate needs are catered for and after a busy day to be able to relax in one of the external spots and all eat round a table was great. Gardener and cleaner were very hospitable. A couple of minor issues but Eva will ensure these items are fixed for any further guests. We didn't brave the pizza oven as the local eateries were far easier and with fantastic views of the lake why slave over a hot oven. A daily selection of meats and cheeses from the local supermarkets made for easy lunches. Parking in Anguillara station is free and a forty five minute to an hour train ride takes you to the typical tourist spots in Rome. Trains are the cheapest and easiest way to hit the spots. Trevi fountain is drained and covered in scaffolding at present. Travelling in a wider circle the Sat Nav proved invaluable. All in all a good holiday, good location to relax and a great Villa.
