the Neighborhood:

Borgo Pio is certainly one of the most fascinating areas of Rome , to the Vatican, which is home to the medieval town and its monuments and architecture should not miss. In addition , however, the so-called tourist attractions Borgo Pio is not just an open-air museum but also a place of entertainment, where to spend your time . Of course, the main attraction of the area is without doubt St. Peter , around which develops the entire neighborhood. Truly not to be missed when the sun goes down is the imposing backdrop of the Basilica , which stands at the end of Via della Conciliation. Certainly, however, this village offers not only wonder, for example, another striking monument is the Passetto or a fortified corridor , open by appointment , which connects the Vatican palaces to the fortress of Castel Sant'Angelo . Just down the walls of the passageway there is the Fountain of the Tiaras that was completed in 1927 by Pietro Lombardi . On way of conciliation instead you can admire Palazzo Torlonia, built in 1496, commissioned by Cardinal Adriano Castellesi and later British Embassy for many years. Also note the fountain of cannon balls , which are explicit references to the nearby fortress of Castel Sant'Angelo , Porta S. Spirit , the southern gateway to the Leonine walls erected around 846 to defend Borgo Pio by the Saracens .

Quiet by day, by night frivolous , Borgo Pio late evening turns to accommodate tourists and locals looking for fun . Restaurants from the aperitif to the music club .
