The Vatican area offers many fantastic sights, such as Saint Peter's Square with its famous Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Raphael Rooms. It is also worth visiting the Vatican Gardens and the Sixtine Chapel .

From Fiumicino Airport, serviced by "regular" airlines you take the Leonardo Express that arrives in fourty minutes to Termini railways station.
From Ciampino Airport, serviced mainly by low-cost airlines, you can reach the Termini railways by bus (Rayanair bus) or you take a bus to Ciampino station and then a train to Termini station.
From Termini you take the underground to Ottaviano station. The apartment is at 5 minutes walking from the apartment.
If you take a taxi, the ride from Fiumicino (Ciampino) would cost you € 40 (€ 30)

We found the apartment to be quite comfortable and extremely quite. The location was close to several grocery stores, resturants and stores. Bus stops to major sites were several blocks away as was a taxi stand. It is located about 15 minute walk to the Vatican, and about 15-20 minutes from Plaza Navona. We would certainly rent this apartment again if we were to return to Rome and would certainly recommend it to friends.

It was hard to believe the description of this apartment as 'silent' given that it is very convenient for the Vatican, the centre of Rome and tourist sites, but that's exactly what it was. We heard no evening/night sound from the neighbours or the street, just the lift going up and down during the day!
We walked nearly everywhere fromt the apartment but it is especially near the Vatican and its museums, and a major shopping street. We did take the hop on/off open top bus one day but it was expensive and not great - the commentary was not in sinc with what we were seeing, the route starts at Termini station so it sits there for 15 mins - a bit tedious unless you want to go there, and we felt we were wasting time waiting for buses when we could be walking, though we are reasonably fit.
The apartment has separately controlled air con in the sitting room and bedroom, wifi and a computer with printer - actually pretty useful if you want to book and print tickets to museums etc. and avoid queues.
Our host, Silvio, put himself out to be helpful and had produced maps of good restaurants, supermarkets, sights and ice cream shops/cafes nearby.
The apartment has a lovely old dark wood lift, so great to lug bags upstairs or if you can't manage the marble staircase. Myself and my 18 year old daughter had a fantastic holiday. I knew Rome would be full of beautiful old buildings and works of art but I hadn't expected it to be relaxing too. It was, thanks to a great apartment with all the information and help we needed to make the most of it straight away. Thank you Silvio.
I would also recommend an airport transfer but I gather there are some rogues out there. We used a company called Rome Airport Transportation. Their website doesn't look much, but the service was great with the driver waiting for us at the airport and early on the way back. The price was fixed and you pay the driver, so if he hadn't turned up at the airport, we wouldn't have lost anything. That gave us confidence to book on the way back too - a decision which gave us an extra half day in Rome not lugging our bags across the city.

We had a lovely time staying in the St. Peter appartment. The rooms and furniture were every bit as attractive as described and the location was within easy walking distance of most of Rome's many attractions. Silvio was always within reach by phone, should we have had any problems , and was friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The flat faces an inner courtyard decorated with trees and shrubs and is peaceful and quiet, something which is probably quite rare in such a busy city. We would definitely recommend the St. Peter appartment.
