The Garden Cottage is a set in the picturesque grounds of Villa San Chanel, surrounded by wistera, this stylish decorated double bedded cottage also boasts a shower room and well-equipped kitchen/diner. The cottage is set in the grounds of the owner's garden where guests are free to use the pool, picnic area and barbeque. There is a small supermarket a two-minute walk away The southern region of Lazio has many impress sights, Tivoli and roman villas of Adriana and the Renaissance of Villa d Este. For those who enjoy walking there are beautifully picturesque walks around the craters of lake Nemi and Albano known as Castel Gondolfo the Pope’s summer residence. Horse riding at the Vivaro and Golf at Fioranello and Castle Gondolfo. We are only 36km from Rome, which you can either go by train (this is the quickest way) or bus either are just a few minutes away from the Garden Cottage. The Eternal city has a wealth of culture history and beauty.

The Lazio region

Spring is a very pleasant time with wonderful weather for walking or visiting nearby villages. Summer of course is as one can expect in Italy -- sunny and wonderful lots of beaches to visit. Autumn is a very busy time in the castelli with the local festivals and warm climate.

The Castelli Region offer easy access to Rome the Enternal city which is a living museum The Via Appia were Qua Vadas it is that is said that St. Peter walked along this Via Appia and met Christ. With so much more in Rome it is a city not to be missed. From the Castelli by train which is the best way to go. The surrounding villages all offer delights of their own, from wine, famous Frascati wine, to Castel Gondolfo the Pope's summer residence (August).

We are in the south of Rome were you can visit the gardens of Tivoli and the Villa of Adriana and closer to there is Ninfa a well documented garden. Nearly every weekend you can find local festivals (Sagre) and each village is known for either the flower display(Genzano) Wine (Marino) Porcinii Mushrooms(Laraino) and many more. Rome of course is a fantastic city with its wealth of culture,history and beauty. At Torvaianica just a short ride away is the wonderful Zoo Marine park which make a very interesting day out.

How to get there

Ryan Air or Easyjet to Ciampino airport, 25/30 mins away by car, also Fiumincino airport 1hr.30mins depending on time of day. Car hire available at airport but both Easyjet and Ryan air have some very good offers.

Cancellations refund Up to 8 weeks no cancellation charge. 4-8 weeks 50% refund 2-4 weeks 20% refund less than 2 weeks no refund. A deposit of 20% at time of booking. Balance 8 weeks prior to arrival. There is a refundable breakage deposit to be paid on arrival of 100 Euros per week, which is returned on departure after checking for damage and breakage.

Conditions

We welcome long term guests. For winter long term stays there is an extra charge for central heating and logs if required.

The booking fee is 20% bookings. During the months of July/August there is minimum booking of one week. Booking deposit made to a UK bank account in GBP pounds. During the cooler months there is an extra charge for central heating.65 Euros per week also wood for fire is chargeable (subject to change).
