An area of many contrasts, a change at every corner. Old Pilgrim villages, Conques the best known. Aveyron has more "Plus Beau vVllages", than any other region, all ancient and very beautiful, Belcastel the closest of these. The rivers Tarn. Lot and Aveyron with picturesque deep gorges
The high Causse of Aubrac gives ideal conditions for cross country skiing in winter and the last weekend in May is the Transhumance Procession when, dressed with flowers, the local cattle are taken to their summer pastures.
Bastide Towns and wonderful unspoiled countryside with abundant wildlife, good food and wineto sample, friendly locals, peace and tranquility--the real unspoiled France
To the East is the now famous Millau Bridge, a must for all visitors to the region.
The Rodez area
Entaygues, Estange and Espalion picturesque stone riverside villages in the Lot valley.
Bozouls situated in a huge geological crater is well worth a visit
Conques, the best known of all the pilgrim halts on the route to Santiago De Compostella, presents a challenge with its steep cobbled streets but the effort is well rewarded.
The whole area is criss crossed with waymarked walks of varying difficulty and length.
Birdwatchers can observe many species, in particular the birds of prey that frequent the rugged slopes around our Hamlet, there is no need to travel far!
Wild flowers abound throughout the year with many varieties of orchid and meadows full of Cowslips in the spring
Marcillac has a market on Sundays where all manner of local produce and goods can be purchased in a colourful and noisy atmosphere.
