Home description

Newly available for summer 2007, Sea Breeze is finished to a very high specification offering spacious and contemporary reverse level accommodation. Light and airy open plan living room with woodburner and glazed doors to balcony with table & chairs and wonderful far reaching rural views. There is a separate t.v. room/snug next to the kitchen, perfect for children's board games. On the ground floor there are 4 spacious bedrooms (one being a double bunk room - great fun for kids), 2 bathrooms, and understairs storage cupboard.

Rock is famous for watersports, sailing, sandy beaches, golfing and wonderful walks across the cliffs to Daymer Bay. Nearby Polzeath offers excellent surfing and body boarding. Lessons for all types of water sport including sailing, water skiing and surfing are available. There are plenty of fine restaurants, cafes, galleries and boutiques. A short ferry ride takes you to Padstow with its famous Rick Stein restaurants and unusual mix of shops. An evening water taxi runs throughout the summer.

Sea Breeze is tucked away off a lane leading from the post office and is really convenient for village shops including butcher, deli, bakery, fishmonger, hardware store, fish & chip shop, newsagent, hair salon, T & G, Crew clothing boutiques and coffee/sandwich bar.

The West Country / Cornwall region

The North Cornish coast is one of the most rugged and beautiful in the country, with many fine sandy beaches. Improved road connections have speeded up access via A30 from Exeter/M5. Once based in North Cornwall access is easy to the cathedral city of Truro with the south coast beyond. Famous for its special light for artists, St Ives is just over an hour's drive and St Michaels Mount is also within driving distance.


Rock area

Rock is perfectly situated for all water sports and sailing in the Camel Estuary which is sheltered from the Atlantic swell by the sand bar at the mouth. Rock's fine sandy beach is sheltered and sunny and at low tide it is possible to walk along the beach to the beautiful Daymer Bay. The St Enodoc church is well worth a visit. There is a coastal path to nearby Polzeath (or a 5 minutes car drive) which is famous for surfing and body boarding. There are now a couple of surf schools offering tuition.

The St Enonodoc Hotel and Blue Tomato are just 2 of the fine restaurants in Rock and across the estuary by ferry is Padstow where the famous Rick Stein Restaurant can be found. There are plenty of boutiques here and also in Rock and Polzeath. Bicycles can be hired in Padtwo for those wishing to take the Camel trail to Wadebridge - a fantastic cycle path along the estuary for a good part.

There is a tennis court to hire in Rock and the Sailing School can hire sailing boats or give tuition. Windsurfers are available for hire and water ski lessons are also avaialble. The St Enodoc Golf Club is perfectly situated overlooking the estuary.


How to get there

From Exeter take the A30 and follow the signs for Wadebridge where the signs for Rock can be picked up. On reaching the village look for a rank of shops on the left with Newsagent, John Bray Estate Agents and the Post Office. Turn left immediately to the side of the Post Office to the end of the lane. Turn right and take the lower fork. Sea Breeze is immediately on your right.

Newly furnished with comfortable sofas, Habitat oak dining furniture and widescreen t.v/dvd. Both the principal bedrooms have 5' solid oak beds, bedroom 3 has 2 sets of chunky pine bunk beds and the 4th bedroom has 2 single pine beds. Plenty of storage.

There is telephone to receive incoming calls only, but can make emergency calls.

Outside store with washing machine/tumble dryer with area for surfing equipment, bikes etc. Tub and outside tap for rinsing wet suits. Parking for 2 cars

Well behaved pets considered by arrangement.

Bed linen available for hire at £60 per week and bath and hand towels £40 per week. These towels must not be taken to the beach please.

A mid week clean is available at cost for two week or more stays. Reputable local babysitter available by arrangement.


Conditions

30% of the total cost is due on booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday.

£250 deposit required to cover any minor breakages, damage or specialist cleaning and electricity.

The person signing the booking form is responsible for the whole party and will be held directly liable for payment to rectify damage, repairs or loss.
