Bay Cottage is a beautiful old fishing cottage in the heart of Rock and just a stones throw away from the sandy beaches of the Camel Estuary. It is perfectly situated for families to get to the beach and enjoy all the activities (such as sailing, waterskiing and kayaking) that Rock has to offer on and off the water. For golfers, St Enodoc Golf course is 500 yards away and Roserrow 5 mins by car. For keen surfers, Polzeath is 3 miles away. About this location
The Cornwall region
Cornwall has developed a great reputation for food and leisure activities as well as the well documented historical places to visit. Cornwall is now attracting people all year round so when the weather is not so warm, visitors enjoy bracing footpath walks, foodie breaks, cookery schools and much more.
Cornwall's popularity has been growing year on year as people come to understand that it is truly a great destination for families, couples, groups or friends. Apart from the obvious close association with the sea.
If watersports are your thing then within walking distance, you can access wakeboarding, water skiing, fishing, sailing, boat charters, scuba diving, banana boats, Kayaking and much more. Rock is very popular as there is so much to do and see. For the families that just want to go to the beaches, there is Rock Beach, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Padstow beach very close by.
For the golfers, Just a 5 minute walk away is the famous St Enodoc Golf Course and don't forget your handicap cards! Just 10 minutes car jouney away, you can also play at the Point at Polzeath.
After a very short walk, you can catch the water taxi over to any of the three Rick Stein restaurants, Margots Bistro and the stunning No6. If you want to cook and eat, why not book in a cookery course at the Rock Stein Seafood Cookery School.
For those people that enjoy fine dining, then we have the two Michelin starred Nathan Outlaw within 4 minutes walk of Bay Cottage and Tides Restaurant is less than a minutes walk away.
From Bay Cottage, you can walk around to Daymer Bay, Pentire Head and for the really serious, you could walk to Port Isaac. If you catch the water taxi (seasonal restrictions) you can then pick up the coast path and walk as far as you can.
Children love Rock as there are lots of beaches nearby and for the not so sunny days, you can take them to Crealy Adventure park, Eden Project, Dairyland, Sealife Aquarium, Lobster Hatchery and many other places.
One of the most popular 'must do's' is cycling down the Camel Trail, you can hire bicycles from Padstow or Wadebridge. This is a really enjoyable trip to do and it helps keep you healthy!
Other things to do in the local area include; Horse riding, Coasteering, Jet ski's (Port Quinn) and shooting.
