About this location
The Yorkshire region
Robin Hoods Bay
In addition to being the destination of Alfred Wainwright's 'Coast to Coast' long distance walk, a 190 mile route that begins at St. Bees in Cumbria and crosses the Lake District and North York Moors, Robin Hoods bay is also renowned for it's abundant Jurassic and Cretaceous fossils. A short trip along the beach from Burton House will bring you into contact with ammonites and fossilised dinosaur footprints! Whilst most of the dinosaurs have long since departed, Robin Hood's bay is a far cry from cutting-edge modernity, with it's cobbled streets and walkways, traditional Inns and shops, you really can feel that you have 'got away from it all'.

Thank you for your review and we are glad you found yourself "at home"!.
For Robin Hoods Bay the layout of Burton House is actually quite generous but the odd low beam or two is a constant source of entertainment and also maybe the reason why Fishermen of old stooped so much :-D
