The Midi-Pyrenees / Gers region
You'll love our charming home, hidden away amongst the vinyards of St.Mont and its traditional unspoilt environment. Tasting the local produce of wines and armagnac is a must. The Gers is the capital for producing frois gras which is served in most restaurants. The region is also where D'artagnan the musketeer lived and in Lupiac you can visit the museum. Its close proximity to Spain offers a big spanish influence and you will find a bull ring in most local towns. The gers has numerous opportunity for fishing, in the lakes and the Adour River, permits can be purchased locally. There is Golf at Eauze and Pallane with 18 and 9 hole golfing, practice drive, putting greens, pools and restaurants. www.golf-midi-pyrenees.com/english. The Pyrenees have all to offer, rambling, climbing, canoeing, caving and skiing in the winter. Lourdes is also very close and worth a visit. The Atlantic coast known for its surfing is only 1 hour away, and biarritz offers a lovely day out, with sea food restaurants galore.
Riscle area

Riscle boasts 6 restaurant/bars so you will never be at a loss for somewhere to eat, or to just sit and watch the world go by. Of course if you fancy doing your own thing Riscle also has boulangeries, patisseries and 2 small supermarkets. The market takes place on Fridays and offers all the fruit and veg. you can think of, not to mention its fresh fish. Why not take a picnic to one of the tranquil spots beside the river adour.
