Northern England region

The Yorkshire Dales is home to over 1,500 square kilometres of the renowned Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is characterised by its unspoilt Dales villages, patchwork of dry stone walls and stunning fells and dales countryside. Visitors are able to travel for miles along quiet country roads, surrounded by magnificent views in every direction; an area dotted with ancient farming communities and rural villages which is typical of this region. This area is perfect for a truly relaxing holiday away from all the stresses and strains of day to day life, where you rediscover a gentler pace of life. It's also great for enjoying a whole host of outdoor pursuits including some of the very best walks in the UK.

Grewelthorpe is a pretty village, complete with duck pond situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The market town of Masham is around three miles away catering for amenities with independent shops selling local produce and two local breweries, both with visitor centres. Ripon is a pretty traditional Yorkshire town with a wide variety of restaurants and shops along with a market. The walk around Hackfall Woods commences beside the cottage which includes follies, grottoes and surprise views, and nearby Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal is a great day out for all the family. A great base for walkers to explore this beautiful section of Yorkshire and beyond.
