Casa Bardol is peacefully situated in green surroundings. The location in the beginning of the Pyrenees offers the perfect base for a big group of family or friends all year around, as the swimming pool in the winther is indoor and heated.
This true vacation paradise, is a place where all possible need can be fulfilled. In 2007 the entire house was perfectly reformed with assistance from a talented interior architect. The outcome is amazing.
Inside, the modern style complements elegantly the historic building's limestone walls. At the ground level, you find a large living room with sofas, fireplace, TV with satellite channels, DVD, WiFi Internet for your laptop and music equipment, a kitchen with all modern amenities, e.g. dishwasher and washing machine. In the dining room, the beautiful dining table has room for everyone. Furthermore, there is a double room and a bathroom adapted for disabled downstairs.
At the first floor, you will find four more double rooms, a triple room and a room with 8 beds, great if all the kids want to sleep together. All rooms have bathroom en suite.
Outside, the surroundings are incredibly beautiful. After driving up 500 metres of nice, paved road leading from the main road to the very small village nearby, where there is a local restaurant, you follow a smaller track 300 metres and you find Casa Bardol surround by an extensive green lawn and with hills and field in the distance.
By one end of the house, there is an outdoor, covered terrace with tables for outside lunch or dinner and BBQ. By the other end of the house, the excellent swimming pool with hydro-massage bench is perfect for a swim all year around. In the summer, the large gates are open, making it an outdoor covered swimming pool. In the spring, fall and winter the gates are closed, and the room and the swimming pool are heated.
The house is simply the perfect point of departure a vacation with your friends or family in Catalonia !

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
The house which is an authentic Catalan limestone villa, modernised with respect for the original style, is situated in the Bergueda region, where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the mountains down toward Barcelona. The house provides a perfect base for relaxation. Read a book, take a swim in the pool and enjoy the hot summer nights on the terrace with a glass of the local cava or red wine from the nearby Penedes district.
The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest, which provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling, canoeing, river crafting or perhaps a visit to the owners farm.
Furthermore the central location in Catalonia makes every corner of province accessible in one-day excursions. From the Dali-museum in the north, the Costa Brava coastline and Barcelona in the south and further south Tarragon with its amphitheatre and universal studios amusement park for the kids. A generous and cosy region, with true cultural, gastronomical, artistic, historical, traditional and legendary treasures. Also a region for the playful who loves sport activities.
In the winter, the ski-resorts in Andorra and the Pyrenees is only a 45 minutes drive away. In the summer you can enjoy the tracks of the Pyrenees or for the adventures paragliding or climbing. The spring (march-may) in Catalonia is sunny, green and comfortable warm. The daily temp. reaches 16-22 degrees.
The autumn (Sep.-Nov) is very warm in the beginning (Sep.) with a daily average temp. reaching 27 degrees. October and November has an average temp. starting at 22 in October ending with 17 in November.

Ripoll area
The capital of Ripollès is an active market and service centre. The traditional shops are between Anselm Clavé and Dama squares, in a busy pedestrian street. Although it is home to much modernist architecture, Ripoll owes its fame to the large Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria founded in the 9C which, until the 12C, was a necropolis for the counts of Barcelona, Besalú and Cerdagne. The library was one of the largest in Christendom.
