La Capilla (The Chapel House) is situated in a secluded peaceful location surrounded by its own olive groves. This unusual house enjoys breathtaking panoramic mountain and countryside views of olive and almond trees all the way around and looks towards the hilltop village of Comares and even down to the sea.
The unusual pool with seating area, looks down over the breathtaking mountains and down to the sea in the distance. We've built this house to a very high standard, using the best oak beams giving high vaulted ceilings in the main open plan living space and llarge bright master bedroom suite, yet leaving a feel of true Spanish charm throughout with all the modern conveniences. We have used traditional wooden doors, windows with wooden shutters, light stone floors, and have ceiling fans throughout, even in the large living area, where you can cool down at any time of the day.
Sat TV with English channels have been provided and Internet access is available on request. All bedrooms lead out to their own terraces. Outside dining has been provided under a wrought iron gazebo overlooking the pool area.
On the upper floor you can enjoy a stunning vaulted master suite with private terrace overlooking the pool and views. This bedroom enjoys the privacy of its own en suite facilities.
Downstairs are two twin bedrooms, both with separate terraces. A large downstairs bathroom has a large walk in shower , modern wash habd basin and toilet, along with a washing machine.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Driving along the Costa del Sol overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about 30 minutes away from Malaga Airport you will enter La Axarquia, a rural region still unspoilt by tourism. Green countryside with white-washed villages, tranquility and a different way of life under the year-round sunshine of Andalucia are waiting for you.
Going up from Torre del Mar into the mountains you will reach Lake Viñuela, a man-made reservoir surrounded by mountains, not only providing the area with water but also forming a spectacular and harmonic part of attraction of this unique and scenic landscape. here you will find several bars/restaurants offering fantastic food.
Heading inland from here you will reach the charming village of Riogordo, nestled into this stunning countryside with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Riogordo translates to Fat River, which is what the village is know for. . Torre del Mar with beaches and all facilities is 20 min away.
Riogordo area
The pretty whitewashed village of Riogordo lies in the region of Axarquia. This small and unspoilt area of Andalucia –to the north east of Malaga - is still a well kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras.
The village offers very resonable local restaurants and excellent shopping facilities. Only 20 minutes to the Mediterranean coast, and 40 minutes to Malaga international airport. Due to good motorway connections, Granada and Antequera can be reached in 1 hour, Cordoba and Seville in 2 hours. Lake Vinuela is 10 mins by car.
It is five minutes drive from La Capilla to the pretty white washed village of Riogordo in the region of Axarquia. The village is typically Andalucian with its winding streets and large selection on restaurants ranging from tapas bars, a pizzeria and several high class restaurants. Riogordo has a large selection of small shops including three mini markets which sell freshly baked bread every day, a pharmacy, four butchers, a fishmonger, a weekly market, a shop for stamps, a Post Office and two banks. The 24 hour Health Centre is situated in the next village of Colmenar.
Just 10 minutes drive and you will find the outstanding Lake Vinuela with many bar/restaurants and a little further to the coastal town of Torre del mar with its famous fish restaurants. Nerja just 10 minutes further along the coast is well worth a visit. Excellent roads are easily accessible to visit Granada (1 hour), Antequera (30 minutes), Ronda and Gibralter (under 2 hours),Cordoba and Seville (2.30 hours).

Flights to Malaga . malaga airport is only 30 mins. granada airport is 1 hour. very easy to find. Very good road network and directions to the house. Owner available on the end of the phone , should you get lost.

Further details outdoors: From the living space stairs lead you down to the several patios and round to the pool area. You can enjoy stunning views and have total privacy. There is a shaded dining area with seating for 6 along with sun loungers for use at the pool. A brick built BBQ awaits you on the patio near the outside seating area and pool. ideal for those wanting to make the most of al fresco dining. The turquiose waters of the pool make an ideal escape from the heat. Simply relax with a book or a glass of wine on the seating area within the pool, or have a swim down to the deep end and back. ideal pool for children to play in and adults to relax in! The pool will be cleaned by us twice a week to keep it in pristine condition during your stay. We will respect your privacy totally.

The villa has amazing views across the mountains, is well positioned to explore. Very well laid out inside, if your looking for somewhere peaceful but not too remote this is the place.

We have had not just 1, but 2 wonderful holidays at La Capilla, whilst searching for our own place in the sun. The views are amazing, especially from the balcony on the first floor. We thoroughly enjoyed eating al fresco by the pool, which gets sun all day long, and when we could drag ourselves away, access to local restaurants and shops is excellent.Plus, only 45 minutes to the airport! The property is bright, airy and clean, and cool with the high ceilings. We did have a small problem with the drains, which was dealt with straightaway, and with many apologies from Lisa. We have recommended this property to our friends as an ideal place to stay in this region. The Spears
