Casa Monte Clara is situated in the hills, just a few minutes outside the truly charming white washed Village of Riogordo within a 10 minutes drive of Lake Vinuela and only 20 minutes to the beach. The house has been furnished in a very traditional Andalucian style and enjoys breathtaking views of the national park, Riogordo and up to the moorish village of Comares. .Guests return year after year to enjoy the peaceful location, sunset BBQ`s and reasonable Spanish local restaurants and bars.
The property has a large entrance hall/ leading to the light and airy open plan Lounge/Diner and fully equipped kitchen. There is a morrocon feel to the Master bedroom with a further well decorated twin bedoom. Additional sleeping has been provided on purpose made sofa beds in the lounge area . There is a traditionally decorated shower room offering a large walk in shower, terracotta wash hand basin and toilet. Outside a shaded patio awaits. overlooking the local Village , where you can enjoy al fresco dining, whilst enjoying the most amazing views over the unspoilt National Park.The brick built BBQ lets you enjoy cooking, whilst overlooking the pool and views. You are surrounded by olive groves and almond trees. and the area offers breathtaking scenery. This stunning location is wonderful for simple relaxation, exploring Andalucia & walking. The beach of Torre del Mar is 20 mins. Malaga 35mins and Granada within an hours drive.Satellite TV with English channels had been provided- There are three terraces to choose from, so you can always find sun, shade and views.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Driving along the Costa del Sol overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about 30 minutes away from Malaga Airport you will enter La Axarquia, a rural region still unspoilt by tourism. Green countryside with white-washed villages, tranquility and a different way of life under the year-round sunshine of Andalucia are waiting for you.
Going up from Torre del Mar into the mountains you will reach Lake Viñuela, a man-made reservoir surrounded by mountains, not only providing the area with water but also forming a spectacular and harmonic part of attraction of this unique and scenic landscape. here you will find several bars/restaurants offering fantastic food.
Heading inland from here you will reach the charming village of Riogordo, nestled into this stunning countryside with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Riogordo translates to Fat River, which is what the village is know for. . Torre del Mar with beaches and all facilities is 20 min away.
Riogordo area
The pretty whitewashed village of Riogordo lies in the region of Axarquia. This small and unspoilt area of Andalucia –to the north east of Malaga - is still a well kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras. The village offers very resonable local restaurants and excellent shopping facilities. Only 20 minutes to the Mediterranean coast, and 40 minutes to Malaga international airport. Due to good motorway connections, Granada and Antequera can be reached in 1 hour, Cordoba and Seville in 2 hours. Lake Vinuela is 10 mins by car.
The village of Riogordo is five minutes away by car where most grocery items may be purchased as well as freshly baked bread. Fresh fish, four butcher's and two banks. Wednesday there is a street market. There is a good choice of local restaurants and bars near by, as well as dozens to choose from at the coast, catering for all tastes. 24 hour medical centre in nearby Colmenar.

Flights to Malaga . malaga airport is only 30 mins. granada airport is 1 hour. very easy to find. Very good road network and directions to the house. Owner available on the end of the phone , should you get lost.

Further details indoors: We have provided a solid wood dining table for six along with comfy seating for 6 people. The kitchen has been well equipped for all you could need for inside and outside dining. You can enjoy English sky channels in the lounge , providing an escape from the mid day sun along with a video recorder and a selection of videos for your use. There is a music centre with a small selection of CD`s, feel free to bring some with you.
Further details outdoors: We have provided sun loungers for the patio round the pool along with comfy cushions. There is a table on the shaded terrace providing seating for 6 people.ideal for al fresco dining. There is a brick built BBQ along with tools for al fresco cooking. The pool will be cleaned by us twice a week to keep it in pristine condition during your stay. We will respect your privacy totally.

Casa monte clara is just lovley, everything you nead is there for you, if you love rustic rural this is the place for you. The pool are is very private and we enjoyed many days and evenings, just enjoying the peace and tranquility.The views are to die for as the sun comes up & goes down you see somthing differant every time you look , you dont get tired of the view . you do need a car as the walk to the local village is a bit steep but saying that the local goat hurder does it and he looks 80 if a day so maybe we were just lazy ! we didnt realy use any restaurants as we loved to eat outside the villa using the bbq .the village has all the bits you nead the butchers was nice and the supermacado had all the bits you neaded , the chemist was very good when i was'nt to well and the doctors was very helpfull you will nead E111 and take a photocopy off it as it will be required. The owner Lisa was on the end of a phone if we required any help she sounded lovley but we just passed in the wind sadley didnt get a chance to meet. this is a realy lovley place to stay and we will be going back. i would recommend this to couples mostley its romantic quite and away from it all but only a car drive away to any bars ect you may want. mark and Lou 2008
